A good advert for JWs ?
by Simon incan you believe this guy.... http://www.gopbi.com/partners/pbpost/epaper/editions/today/local_news_2.html.
is he a good advert for jws as 'law abiding citizens' or what ?
although i guess he is just following the example of his leaders in how they think the law applies to them!

Ellis didn't explain his refusal to take an oath Friday, but acquaintances said he's a Jehovah's Witness, a denomination that forbids swearing.
First of all, the article is not saying he is a baptized JW in good standing. It says "acquaintances said". Who are the acquaintances? Why did they not include their name? Is that just their own personal opinion of why this stupid-ass won't take an oath? He is most likely not a JW, maybe studied at one point, or went to a few meetings. If he is baptized, then I hope they disfellowshipped him for being an asshole.

Yes, the literature contains simple language. Isn't that how Jesus taught? Didn't he say we should be like children?
We don't lovingly call you apostates. The Bible does. There is never any need for disfellowshipping if one is humble and follow Jehovahs path.

Happy positive lives after leaving
by tergiversator inin response to the commonly-repeated myth that all ex-witnesses are bitter angry people with nothing better to do then attack their former religion, i thought we should set the record straight.
where are you in life right now?
are you doing things that you always wanted to do, traveling to interesting places in your free time, making great new friends, generally enjoying life?

Of course your going to have great lives. Enjoy it while you can. All enemies of Jehovah seem to have great lives, but that's just because Satan already has them under his control.

sexual abuse of children is a terrible crime that can leave lasting emotional scars on its victims.

I understand your concerns, Seeker. I realize things like this happen, but it is up to each body of elders to take care of their congregation. Our body of elders are very protective of the young ones. The Watchtower does provide proper training for the elders, but it's up to each individual elder to apply that training.

I don't know why you people are so surprised. This has been the stance the organization has taken since I can remember. A C.O. told us in 1995 that all child abuse, even if it was intercourse between say a 19 year old and a 17 year old, had to be reported.
Most of you are just silly with comments like the "iceberg", "run, wt, run". What is that all about? That's kid stuff. No one is bringing down Jehovah's organization, no one. Whether you believe or not, Jesus is in charge of his remnant.

FATAL ASSUMPTIONS
by You Know injesus further related in the 15th chapter of john: "nevertheless, i have spoken these things to you that, when the hour for them arrives, you may remember i told them to you.
these things, however, i did not tell you at first, because i was with you.
so, the point is that jesus has not told his anointed ones certain things yet because the hour for them has not arrived.

individual:
Are you kidding me? Obviously you don't read the magazines, even worldly people realize the value of the information they contain. The magazines help people focus on different biblical topics. Your post is just full of your own personal interpretation on the motives behind Witnesses.
Patriot: You're just being idiotic. I go out in service and never ask for donations. Many times I don't even place literature, I just use the Bible. And why would I go ask the P.O. anything about the magazines? I am the P.O.
