  $$ aid to needy JW's....How much have you ever seen???

  i know in all my years...45 in the trut..uhh...make that...cult..........i can only think of one time i ever gave $$ to someone in need....a friend who and no insurance and had a bad accident.........and i really don't remember anytime a person or family was so desperate there was talk about it or an announcement made to help them.

  in today's economy with zillions of bankruptcies and foreclosures...esp due to medical problems and no insurance, there must be lots of dubs in need.

  so how much financial help have you seen given?

  Im my congregation there was a brother who was very handicapped (after an accident) and had very little money. He drove such an old car it was very unsafe and unreliable.

  I was selling my old car, and a brother and I decided to pool some money and buy this car for the brother. It was worth about $2200-2400, so I offered it at $1800 as my 'donation'. There were many brothers who donated $100 or some more.

  Of course this was quickly forgotten by everyone else, since it's neither service nor meeting attendance. Good deeds don't matter.

  I still feel good for helping this brother out.

  Book study change and Satan/ sorry about the format

  this email is circulating among the witnesses....... book study change

  this was forward by friends at the guam branch -- ---------------------- from a sister in colombia : i want to share with you important points from our co's visit about the changes that will take effect next year about our book study.

  there are four main points about the book study change, i thought were very interesting:

  When that happens, we will already know how to conduct our meetings in a condensed format. We will need to meet in smaller groups at brother's homes. So when that time comes we will still get spiritual food, but in a quicker format so as to not arouse suspicion by our neighbors.

  Do they not see the flaw here? They said for years Book Study was to prepare for the last days. Now they do the opposite, take it away and STILL say it is to prepare for the last days. The WTS can spin anything!

  Genesis/creation & the flood. Both seemed like good myths, and even as an active JW I knew not to take the stories literally.

  Genesis - I figured it was more of a 'Cliffs notes' synopsis of creation, and in no way could man have only existed for 6,000 years. Plus there were too many unanswered questions, like the dinosaurs.

  Flood- Figured at best it was a local flood that killed the local bad guys. No way did I believe it could ever have been literally the entire world.

  I am starting a new video series: Ex-Gilead Missionary

  i have been debating on how best to get the word out about jws and the wts... i have thought about blogs... but i just can't get myself to create the blog... and my youtube videos that i colaborated on with v have been successful on youtube... i have received many comments, and some inquiries from active jws based on the video.

  I personally only use them sparingly. They are great spice words but by using them too much they lose their meaning and impact. I also avoid swearing in front of anyone I don't know, and in public where people may hear. I still respect that people may get offended, and there may be kids around.

  That being said, it's great to curse when necessary, and not get offended by anyone who does!
