by easyreader1970 ini hate riding the fence.

"Evolution and Atheism are both theories......."
Don't read into it too much, as I am an Agnostic myself. All I meant is that Atheism means that part of your beliefs of the origin of the universe and life is that you do not believe in any God, and since it can't be proven, isn't that a theory?
And the only reason I say I'm Agnostic and not Atheist is for this reason. If I cannot disprove God, there's a "chance" there is one, of some kind, and therefore I am Agnostic.

Why do you say atheism is a theory?
I guess only in that "knowing there is no god" is just as unprovable as "Knowing there is a god". I'm basically on the same Atheist page as you, so I'm not trying to convince anyone of God, but I just want to admit to uncertainty.

LOL!! Did you notice the picture of the tract "Who will conquer the world in the 1970's" And someone commented "Who did conquer the world in the 1970's?"
Boy do they not realize this tract likely was predicating the 1975 fiasco!

Why I am an atheist
by Awakened at Gilead insomeone (a born-again exjw) on youtube asked me why i was an atheist... i crafted a brief response... it follows:.
1. religious reason: there is no proof for god outside of the bible.
once i dropped my belief in the bible, the judeo-christian concept of god fell apart like a house of cards.

I agree with everything above, except that since we cannot disprove God, I'm Agnostic and not Atheist. Just terminology I guess :)

I also agree with "I don't know". Evolution and Atheism are both theories that cannot be proven as much as God cannot be proven.
There is a big possiblity that man has no idea about creation, and there's nothing wrong with trying to find out, but there's also nothing wrong to say that we yet don't know.

Did You Ever Think That The Demons Were After You?
by minimus ini know so many jws that love to think satan and his demons are after them.
if they were being "persecuted", it was because of the devil and his demons.
if they got an ache or pain, it was because satan was trying to "discourage" them.......did you think the demons were trying to get you, too?

I always felt that most (if not all) people who felt anything positive from God/Holy Spirit/Jesus/etc was all psychological and not actually truly spiritual. The reason I did is that people in ALL religions have this feeling.
So if JWs were the truth, then why are people in all religions having these religious moments? Either it's psychological, or as the WTS would say, it's demons (never believed that)
If JWs were not the truth, then either all religions are right, or they're all BS and it's all psychological.
Same goes on the negative side with Satan and his demons. The ones who seem to have issues with them seem to be convinced they exist and therefore it's a self-fulfilling prophesy. Why don't Atheists ever get attacked by demons?

Did You Hate Going In Service???
by minimus ini really thought it was a stupid waste of time!
especially weekend mornings and holidays..

Only went once a month because my wife made me go, and to have a token number of hours. I resented losing my one day a week to sleep in and have a day off.
I also saw how fruitless the effort was, and how inefficient it all was. Would spend over 3 hours from when we started getting ready in the morning till we got home, and talk only to a handful number of people at most.
Many times we would work with another couple with kids so we could do return visits, and take a very long break, and still count 2 hours.
What a waste of time.
