girls, .
by far one of the best teachings of jw's is the one of growing to perfection.
no more cellulite!!!
Hi Violet,
Good health, peace, and end to human cruelty are very honorable goals to aspire to, in my opinion.
Looks? Elle's legs? Well, that is in the hands of the ole spin of the genes. Perfection is a myth. Besides, who says Elle's legs are perfect? They may be aesthetically pleasing to some people, but not to everyone.
Having what society calls a great bod certainly does not guarantee a meaningful life. It also does not guarantee good health. Emotionally or physically.
I remember watch an interview with a model on TV a while back. She had struggled with bulimia for years. She talked about how with computers even their own "perfect" bodies were "altered" to look "better". Waists were whittled down, and clevage was "puffed" up a bit. So, even PERFECTION has to be, well, perfected .
Violet, just do your best to live up to your OWN potential.

Us females will be "perfect", huh? To be perfect, I suppose, cellulite would not fit into the picture.
Well, in order to declare something perfect, there needs to be a STANDARD of perfection. That is, ONE standard. So,then, one would surmise in the new order, everyone will look the same. Same body type, same hair color, same eye color, same height, same weight, etc.
Just like in dog shows, each breed has it's own standard of perfection. Each characteristic of a particular breed is noted, and when being shown, they are measured against that standard. The dog closest to the standard, wins.
So, when I read about perfection being applied to humans, particularly women, I feel compelled to comment. I seems that there certainly cannot be ONE standard.
So, when the WTS speaks of everyone being perfect after Jehovah's Mass Murder, I only have one thing to say to them:
KISS MY CELLULITE COVERED ASS!!!!!

No offense Violet. Just needed to get that off my imperfect chest .

part 4: the last km school .
the average jw elder participates in extra exclusive activities over and above the rank & file jw: among them are the judicial committees, private meetings with the circuit and district overseer on various official occasions, possession of the secretive flock book, and kingdom ministry school.. of all these, the least frequently experienced is km school.
it is not all that exciting, because much of what is covered is admonition about what most jws already know that elders are supposed to be doing: examples in field service, regular shepherding calls, meeting preparation and attendance, study with the family, etc.
Hi Amazing,
Still following. Keep em coming.

i repeat, you have not lived as a jw.
you have not raised your child as one, you have not had to sign a virtual death warrant for your child by refusing blood!!
you have not had to die as many of us have had to die.. you have not walked as we have walked!!!.
Larc,
Ok, so? I proved your point. However, THAT was not MY point.
MY point is that Julie has been told, in so many words, to "shut-up, be quiet, you don't know what you are talking about", etc" when she has expressed an opinion that was not accepted by a "born in, raised in, an adult in", JW. A sort of "coup de gras" in order to end a debate. I have been here, on this board, for six months, and I have seen it several times.
No one has ever attempted to deny me my rights. As if they could anyway . I'm just speaking up about a continuing "gag" some posters try to put on Julie because "she ain't one of us". Well, I am just raising my hand and saying, I'm an apostate wannabe too.

Well, I'm going to go ahead and ring in here. Perhaps we can get this thing to flame before Julie even posts, if indeed she does, here!
I was never a JW as an adult. My own personal experiences with the WTS were as a child. My parents were never very "good" JWs, so they were probably much more liberal than most. We became "officially" inactive when I was 10(My Father later returned after I became an adult). So, I sort of lived half in and half out. I have a very large extended family on both sides. My Mother's side has most of the JW relatives, and because of my family leaving, we have been shunned for over 20 years. Anyway, my point is, NO,I cannot relate to many of the experiences posted here, personally. However, I can empathize and I can also have, and express, an opinion on various topics I read about here. I DARE anyone to tell me I'm not allowed .
I suppose what I am trying to convey is that I have read on several occasions people posting to Julie "you will NEVER understand because you are NOT one of us"! Well, perhaps that is true to a certain extent. That goes for many of us here. We have not had all of the same exact experiences. Some are Non-JW's married to JWs. Some are studying or have studied. Not everyone was born, raised, and lived as an adult in the Org. I think we all have our own vantage point from which we see the same mountain. And quite frankly, I don't like to see anyone being told "YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO JOIN OUR EXCLUSIVE LITTLE CLUB". It has the same stench the cliques down at the KH have(which, of course, I have no personal experience of KH cliques. I only have the stories my Mom tells me to go by).
Okay, I'm done.

yes, most posters here seem to await the fall and decline of the jw religion with glee.. but, my question for you is twofold:.
1. how long will it be before the jw's disappear?
how do you see that occurring?.
I'm of the thinking that JW's, and religion, itself, will become irrelevant sometime after Armageddon .

hi all you wonderful folks!.
i know a couple of people who made the above statement recently and got to thinking about it.
the way i see it a comparison could be made between fiction and non-fiction & art and photography.. both have their places, but art changes the original to match what the artist sees.
I love to read and I am quite content to be left alone with a good book.
I also tend to read mostly non-fiction. I love historical books and biographies. The last fiction book I read was Jane Austen's Emma. However, I am always game to read anything interesting and well written, nonfiction or otherwise.
I fell in loving with reading when I was 10. I checked out my first Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle book from the school library. I read every one in the series. So, I certainly would never look down my nose at anyone who reads fiction. To each his, or her, own.
When Oprah started her book club, I decided I was going to read along.
The first book was The Deep End of the Ocean. A very sad story of child abduction. The author had a beautiful style of writing, but I took a disliking to the main character and struggled to finish the book.
Ok, I thought to myself, I will see if I like the next book. So, then it is announced the next selection is She Come Undone. The same thing happens again. Well written, but, again, I start to dislike the very hostile main character.
I begin to notice a pattern. Oprah seems to like very depressing, sad stories. If I want sad and depressing, I certainly don't need it to be made up. Perhaps that is why I prefer satire and historical books and biographies.

most of us now laugh at the witnesses, but i think compared to some others they are quite reasonable ( notice i said compared).. so which religion has the most crazy beliefs.. i dont have much knowledge of these religions but i'll mention what i know , feel free to add your own points or correct me if i'm wrong.. i'll start with.. mormons,.
believe jews migrated to america.and that we are angels on earth being tested.. monnies,.
believe rev moon is jesus on earth.they also use (missuse) quatum physics to prove their beliefs.. scientology,.
To Gilwarrior,
The Mormons you see riding bikes are Missionaries. Usually, they are young men that have just graduated high school. The LDS church requires that all men go out on Missionary for two years. This is all financed by the boys families. They live with local Mormon families and are given a small allowance to buy necessities. Hence, the bicycles. Their job is to bring people into the LDS church.
When the two years is up, they generally are off to college. Most likely a university in Utah

while it may be "politically correct" to jump all over nytelecom, let's face it, how many of you actually laughed at his post, before recomposing yourself and deciding to "grab a rope" and join the lynch mob?
i wonder who will be honest.
i am not a fan of nytelecom or fredhall or madapostate.
Hey UR,
Just for the record, I did not hardy har har when I read NYT's post to WW77.
NYT,
If you are were so concerned about WW77's health, you would have email her privately . I'll just bet you walk up to people, all the time, to give out unsolicited physical fitness advice. You define the term "pathetic cretin".
I stand by my cure for what ails YOU.
