  having a hard time with dateline eh?.

  i admire what you are trying to do in behalf of all those that have been sexually abused, but i believe you are going about it in the wrong way.. you have taken up a fight against jehovah himself and this is futile.

  celebrating the death of Jesus

  am i the only one bothered by the way the jw's refer to the memorial as a celebration of the death of jesus?.

  i understand that jesus said to keep the tradition of the last meal, but should it be referred to as a celebration?

  this should be a solemn occasion and not one we would look forward to celebrating.

  1 Timothy 2:5,6: Maybe the Greatest JW Travesty

  with the pre-memorial drums beating through dubland, it brings to my mind how the jw insistence on a literal reading of the 144,000 in revelation 7 and 14 has poisoned their entire outlook of the new testament and the teachings of christ.. although they're the most aggressive proselytizers of christendom, it's no wonder they've cooked up a host of specious rationalizations to demur on invitations to participate in public debates: they must know that their position on this bedrock teaching of christianity, i.e.

  that jesus died and was raised for all and in his position of hevenly glory, intercedes on their behalf.

  there's no question that any attempt by jws to defend their ludicrous teaching in a public forum would subject them to embarassment and well-deserved ridicule, and expose their cultishess.. and this is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg: look what the literal 144,000 does to eviscerate the power of jesus illustration of the sheep and the goats; it compels jws to equivocate on other crystal clear christian concepts, i.e the sonship of god and leading of the holy spirit.

  I remember giving an answer at a meeting (when I was a JW) that this verse about "Christ being a mediator between God and men" applied to all of us, unaware of the WT spin on the doctrine (even though I was an adult and had been baptized for several years by then).

  I was "corrected" (I cannot remember exactly how, but it was by an elder). I guess that was one of my first lingering doubts about WT Society teaching.

  Why can't Christ be a mediator for me? Don't I pray for forgiveness in his name? Makes absolutely no sense.

  They said it was because he mediated a covenant for a kingdom, and I was not a member of the kingdom class. Well what does that have to do with Christ's mediation for me?

  If You Can't Accept Blood Then Surely......

  if i believed that it was wrong to have a blood transfusion, then i would also believe that it was wrong to ingest any human blood fractions at all.

  picking and choosing what bit of blood is ok and what isnt, is not going along with the principle of the whole thing at all.

  it's just dodging the issue imo.. if i believed it was wrong to have a blood transfusion, common sense would tell me it was also wrong to have an organ transplant.

  E-man,

  How many JW's listen to their instincts? Most rely on their "theocratic" indoctrination, er, training!

  With that in mind, most JW's would only agree with you on the first point, that blood is blood is blood, no matter what the current teaching of the Governing Body is.

  While the second point makes common sense, most JW's would tell you now that there is a difference between blood and organs, that blood sustains life, etc. And as far as having one's own blood stored, that would horrify your average JW... Why -- blood is to be poured out on the ground, not set aside!

  However, your points make good common sense, instinctively.

  Why love God?

  should we love god and have faith in him because we are afraid of being annihilated if we don't?.

  should we love god so we can be paid for it by getting a "mansion in the sky" or everlasting life or some other reward payment?
