Yeah absent-mindedly telling his friend Chuck Graham to stand up.
Biden is one heartless S.O.B.
i was all aboard the mccain train.
but seeing sarah palin generally spew the same accusations which had been refuted or put into context, reaaalllly bugged the hell out of me.. its odd, because i've seen biden and i'd gotten the impression (which remains true of him) that he was a longwinded, pedantic old geezer.. besides that, i need specifics, i'm not interested in fluffy vague generalized statements, i need precision, facts.
the thing that got me the most is finally i am hearing about intervention in darfur, sudan.

you, governor palin, have said that you would like to see a real clear plan for an exit strategy.
12) ifill: let's talk conventional wisdom for a moment.
but even more important is that world view that i share with john mccain.
I think Obama is going to be bad for everyday americans, great for the terrorists (Bill ayers?)
So out of fear, you're voting more AGAINST Obama than for McCain, if I'm to understand you properly?

It was really poor of her to not acknowledge Biden's loss when he spoke of it and nearly choked up. Really undignified to just plough ahead with your scripted prattle.
Smellsgood, I could not agree with you more. If she was really friendly and folksy, she would have paused at this point and at least acknowledged that Biden suffered a heartbreaking personal loss. After all, Obama/Biden are expected to honor McCain for the personal suffering he endured while serving America in Vietnam.
But no, heartless Sarah just plowed ahead as you said. Her winking and folksiness was all cancelled out by her callous treatment of Biden at that late stage of the debate.
is anyone planning to see this http://www.americancarol.com/ ?
i'm looking forward to it.
it should be funny.
Hmmm... I'll take these one at a time.
Religulous -- is not political rancor. It's about religion. Next...
"W" -- Everyone knows to take Stone with a grain of salt. I did wonder why he's rushing to get this movie out before the election -- perhaps as a counterpoint to An American Carol? Bush is already a terribly unpopular president, with the lowest approval ratings of anyone leaving that office. So "W" doesn't really change anything about the upcoming election -- which to the McCain/Palin camp is about THEM and THEIR brand of change, not about Bush.
I saw a preview of "W" and it didn't look rancorous to me. If anything it humanizes Bush, Cheney, Rice and the others -- showing their joy and humanity even as they are having a hard time governing. I don't see "W" as an attack -- because no attack on Bush is needed at this point. The water is already over the dam.
However -- American Carol does try to influence the election, falsely painting Michael Moore and liberal/progressives as America haters.
I think we of all persuasions love America, we just have different ways of expressing it.
a prominent bethel elder shared this information with another elder: there are some bethel workers who have been invited to leave bethel, but are refusing to do so and are taking the society to court while still residing in brooklyn.
if this is true, this could be the reason behind the sale of brooklyn property.
.
These Bethel slaves are no longer welcome. How can they physically stay? Their room is on Watchtower property, and they served at the pleasure of their Watchtower leaders. We need more details on what it means to 'refuse to leave'. The part about suing the Society -- on what legal grounds? Inquiring minds want to know.

Just what America needs -- more political rancor. Yep, Michael Moore and those elite liberals really must hate America. Charles Dickens must be spinning in his grave at this appropriation of his Christmas Carol.
It appears to be a lame attempt by "conservatives" to turn back the tide swinging towards progressivism and away from conservative Republicanism. Enjoy it though.

Thanks Blondie for that exposition. I really liked the quotes you included after paragraph 1 establishing how the JW's loyalty is mainly (and blindly) to the WTS organization.
The Watchtower's tack in recent years has been trying to set up a mythic battle between Jehovah and apostates. (They used to concentrate on the invisible spiritual battle between Jehovah and Satan!!)
The fear of evil "apostates" is built up to a ridiculous level. I thought it was Satan the Devil making life so hard for JW's. No -- it's apostates and their reasonings. This article didn't associate bad ol' King Jeroboam with Satan the Devil, no -- he's equated to modern- day apostates!
In this whole lesson, I didn't see any example of how things turned out well for the Israelites who stayed close to Jehovah. I saw no proof that "loyalty" brought them rich blessings. I guess serving Jehovah is supposed to be a reward by itself. My guess is that the average Israelite was just trying to get along in their life and didn't care much who the national God was.
hi friends, .
as i told you some time ago, my son ended his studies in the top 10% in one of the best universities in our country.
he has just been hired by one of the biggest and prestigious banks in the country!
Caballo --
That's great news. I'm glad you stood up and said "No" to Watchtowerism.
i want to see this movie, but i'll have to drive 100 miles to tulsa to the closest theater showing.
sometimes it sucks living in the bible belt!.

The theatre was packed with people of all ages, but I was impressed with the number of young people in attendance.
Young folks dig Bill's irreverent humor. Also, many more young adults are openly declaring themselves free of religious influence. Here in Minnesota, the membership at campus atheist / secularist / humanist groups are at all-time highs.

The art of the non-answer must be practiced by those who really don't know. If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, dazzle them with your bullshit.
I think it's weird that Palin said a patriot thinks "government, get out of my way so I can do stuff". That's individualism, not patriotism. There's a reason this country is called the UNITED States of America -- we're united -- we work together to get things done. That's patriotism, to me.
