  Why Matthew 24 can NEVER be fulfilled.....

  by watchtower theology, millions if not billions of dead people will be resurrected in jehoobie's funland...... assuming 6 million dubs survive the fiery wrath of lord jehoobie, they will represent a tiny minority in the new world order!.

  according to the borg, all of these newly risen dead will require a "witness", meaning, the kingdom ministry will by necessity be in full swing,.

  So we have JW's today after 100+ years have only 6 million members.

  So how many after a 1,000 years of preaching?

  Well at the end of that 1,000 years Satan will be released and what effect will have a 1,000 years of JW preaching have had on the people?

  "When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves...." Rev 20:7-9

  It seems just as many people then will up and follow Satan.

  Looks like the field ministry failed again.

  Or after a 1,000 years of JW's knocking on your door , you would gladly run and join Satan

  What was the view on hunting in your former congregation?

  in the area i live hunting and fishing are big sports.

  quite a few of the brothers hunt.

  they keep it under the radar, though.. what about you're area?.

  In our congregation we were told that you could only hunt if it was for food. Fishing for "sport" that is catching fish, weighing etc and throwing back was not allowed.

  JW members are slowy Awakening!

  sometimes you wonder if the wtbts will ever come to a dead end.

  but, it is always encouraging when you hear of the gradual awakening of individuals who have been trapped in the cult their whole lives.. walking home from school yesterday i felt a tap on my shoulder and turned round to see a jw i have known since he was a little boy.

  he has been a window cleaner since leaving school and is married with three children.. straight away he said to me: ' my wife has gone to university!

  This got me thinking about my family and others I knew also.

  Out of my own family of 9 only my wife and two daughters are still JW's.

  My wifes brother, and his wife, stopped going ages ago, I found out.

  Every so often I get word that so-snd-so has stopped going to the KH.

  The book group I used to attend, used to have 20-25 , now only has 8-10 attend.

  Elders have resigned in my old congregation.

  It was recently posted that the number of Elders in USA had droped by 35% since 1994. I wonder if the same has happened in Britain.

  The sister congregation that shares the KH with my old one has dropped in number by about at least 50% I believe. There is talk that the two will combine to make one congregation again. After having split about 20 years ago because the "growth" was so big and we built a new KH ready for it. Now they are lucky to half fill it.

  Twelve were baptised at one circuit assembly last year, the oldest being 16, the average age 14.

  Major doctrines, like Blood are becoming unsustainable. It has been watered down through the years. They now have people so confused as to what they can have in the way of blood fractions.

  We all know through what we hear and know that the Watchtower is hitting a bad time. They control and fear they used to have over members is no longer working.

  Even disfellowshipping no longer hold the fear it did. Because now there are so many ex-JW's out there a person no longer feels alone. Again the Internet has played a big part in the support ithas given to such ones.

  No wonder the WT is trying to scare its members by "hinting" that the end is very near. The "Matt 24:14 fulfilled" talk we have heard by the Brooklyn Bethel brother. He damn well knew what he was doing and I'm sure Brooklyn did as well.

  We know what JW's are like give a hint that the end is near and they practically have the day marked on their calendars.

  At one time they could rely on the children following the parents into the WT. The trouble is that the the Governing Body is now dealing with a different generation. Its a generation that is being bombarded with information about the JW's, like never before.

  Yes JW's are Awakening to the fact that the WT can't really do a damn thing about it if they leave.

  Its the difference in perspective.

  You can stand with your face right up against a large painting and only see a 6" square at a time. . You think to yourself this is a nice painting.

  Then you step back and you see the whole painting. You then see that its not as good as you thought it was.

  There are parts where its flaking, parts where the artist has changed it, parts that don't fit in, parts that are dark that you can't quite make out what is there.

  Likewise those still in the Watchtower only see there small part of it. Their congregation, or circuit. They see only the publication they have at the time, the Watchtower for Sunday, the book for the group study. They don't step back and look at what the whole Watchtwer doctrine looks like.

  "Apostates" have taken that step back and have seen the whole picture.

  Is the Watchtower beginning to lose its grip on its members?

  i have seen a counsellor on and off since leaving watchtower land.

  she has made efforts to find out more about jehovah's witnesses.. we were discussing why my jw family (not my husbands' they shun us as if we smell bad!!!!

  ) are beginning to spend more time with us.

  I have thought this for a while. But thought maybe its just a local thing with congregations round here. But after reading the above posts and others on this forum it does seem something is happening.

  My daughter (DA'd) a couple years ago when we were discussing what was happened in our old congregation said it seemed that since we left it has fallen apart. Not that we had anything to do with it. But in the time I've left they have lots of troubles.

  Congregations that 10 years ago were strong are now struggling. Some JW's have left, others moved congregation because of problems.

  Elders who you would never think would leave have left. I know of brothers who are carrying on but their "joy" has gone. Even had one turn up at my church three weeks ago. Unfortunately he went before I could get to see him.

  Young ones will no longer stand the control. They are more inquiring than the young of years ago. In schools they are told to question, to discuss, to argue and not just accept things at face value. And of course they all know how to use the internet. They are applying this to what they are taught as JW's . Last year 12 got baptised at the one Circuit Assembly the oldest was 16, average age 14, where will these ones be by the time they reach 20.

  You can see that the WT is worried by the articles in the magazines, the District Conventions last year "Deliverance is at Hand" all about staying close to Jehovahs organisation and obeying it. The 2007 year text "The Great Day of Jehovah is near" the talk by the CO on Matt 24:14 being fulfilled. Whether or not approved by Brooklyn you can be sure they knew about it.

  All designed to keep this still in and in their place. There will always be the hardcore JW, the timid ones to frightened to leave, the ones who stay because they would lose family if they left.

  The Watchtower used to try and put over,to their members, that the world was frightened of them, that churches were scared of them. But now members are realising that the rest of the world couldn't give a damn about them. After 100+ years of preaching and the millions of pieces of literature hardly anyone still knows what they believe. They don't have blood, don't celebrate Christmas or birthdays is what people basically know about JW's. . That is the extent of 100+ years of preaching!

  The WT has a problem they cannot dropped major doctrines, like blood, or the anointed and the great crowd, or their view of Christ. If they did then they would lose even more members.

  Time will tell.

  has anyone called bethel to confirm that this is an official proclamation?.

  a few 1000 phone calls might get some attention... probably cause warning talks on getting your information thru emails instead of publications ... i know some of you here do call bethel on occasion..just wondering if anyone has called to ask about this latest stuff..

  Sounds like a bit of panic at Brooklyn

  They know how remarks like that grow among JW's.

  That it will be used against them for making another "false prophecy" by the rest of the religious community.

  ok, so i am in a new congregation (2 months).

  the po was giving the bible highlights for isaiah 34-37. .

  somewhere in there he slips in the angel that killed the 187,000 men was none other than jesus.

  Its not just a JW view many Christian scholars believe that the "angel of the Lord" mentioned in Isaiah 37:36 and other places in the OT is Jesus

  What really made you exit the Jw's

  i know its a question that has been asked a thousand times, but what really made you exit the jws .. for instance, my wife and i, having found out about the u.n., 607bce, failed prophecies etc.

  gave all this information to my wifes brother, along with many so called friends.

  we came out but the brother and friends stayed in.. the only reasoning i can put on it, is that we made an effort to find out for ourselves what was the real truth, the others were told and given written evidence - but still didnt make a decision.

  The lack of love and support at a time when I needed it. Having depression was bad enough. But having people you had known for 25 years avoid you. By having your wife, under the direction of the Elders, tell you to leave the family home because you are a "spiritual danger" to the family. Not once did anyone say "We'll help you get through this and back on your feet." if they had I may well have been still a JW. But in their perverse minds doing the opposite, ignore you, avoid you, get you own wife to dump you, go to another congregation, is a "loving action" and suppose to bring you back to heel.

  For a year I was probably stumbling along trying to do my best as a JW. Then one day I picked up a book that revealed to me the true nature of the Watchtower organisation. This led to the Internet, Freeminds, JWD and other sites and Ray Franzs two books. . For two years I devoured everything ending up with stacks of printed off material. I stopped going to meetings. In all this time not once did I get a "shepherding visit" no call, nothing, not even an invite to the Memorial. Then in September 2001 two Elders called, I was out, but they were only calling to get "inactive" ones back because numbers were dropping. This annoyed me , just being seen as a number on their records. I then officially DA'd , which was 30 years from when I became a JW. It meant that I could no longer see my two of my children who were still JW's. But I had already become a Christian before this. It is now 5 years since I last spoke to my JW wife and two JW daughters.

  All not in WT are Antichrist article anyone know of it???

  i've been looking for a watchtower article that was posted a while ago, stated basically that all those who are not jw's are the antichrist.

  it was from one of last years wt mags.

  tried search but can't seem to find it.
