Proof WBTS is downgrading 1914

maybe they're keeping the doctrine but they are not writing about it as much in the watchtower.. below are statistics from their 07 cd showing how many times 1914 was mentioned in the watchtower for each year 1950 to 2006 .

i have divided the years 1950 2006 into segments of eight excepting for the last, which is nine.. on the side i have the average for those years.

notice they have gone from 88.87 a year to 24.44. .

And in the same chapter, at 5:82, you find the ironic:

[5.82] Certainly you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the Jews and those who are polytheists, and you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to those who believe (to be) those who say: We are Christians; this is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly.

Obviously, Christians and Jews of Muhammed's days are much worse than the Islamic extremists spawned by the religion today; obviously ;-)

I know one African country where talks like this are routinely ignored. JWs is competitive countries know the only way to get out of the cycle of poverty is by getting thoroughly educated, and it's not unusual to find university graduates in responsible positions in the congregations. Within the universities themselves, the rate of attrition of JWs is quite high; the talks are geared towards dissuading JWs from going ahead for second and third degrees.

Needed - Pedophilia Settlement info.......

hey folks, can any of you provide me with links to legitimate news sources that have estimated the pedophilia payout amount.

i think it was around $13-14 million.

i have a jw friend who didn't know about it and wanted to provide him some reading home work.

Did you get the JW to read the court documents in respect of these settlements? Did the JW agree that some moeny was paid out of the WWW funds? If yes to both, that's not trivial; the amount will be a detail, though not an unimportant detail. It was important for the Watchtower that the exact amount aren't public; the victims ar ebound by law not to reveal the details.

As a greenhorn, used to count time differently: I'd count only actual time spent talking to people, which meant lower numbers than everyone I went out with. Until the month I aux-ed with a pioneer brother who was generous with all the tricks. I'll start out with a tract to someone close to home; whatever happened between there and the meeting point didn't matter much, he said - though, truth be said, I kept it active: talked to people on the way - and same thing back on the way home. The hours climbed. Then I started to count time spent discussing (arguing) with people on the internet... Some months when I reported 25-3/4 hours (for 25 hours 45 mins), I'd be 'advised' to approximate it to 26; hmnn, that didn't sound very right. It was clear the numbers weren't meant to be accurate; and that did more than a bit to erode confidence in the system.
