back years ago as a young child in grade school, i remember a boy horrible teasing, taunting a younger boy that was waiting for the school bus.
When I was little I had no idea why I didn't salute the flag. One of my classmates asked me why I didn't salute it.
So, I went home and told my mom that my classmate asked why I didn't salute the flag.
She told me to ask him, "Why did he salute the flag".
So, that's what I did. Still had no idea why I didn't salute it...
i've noticed since the watchtowers tax problems,and publications now being offered without a price for "donations" the quality has gone down to save money $$$$ first the new calander is half the size of the original a4 size....it's hard to write your witnessing hours!
remember the hard cover books that last forever...now paperback!!
monthly awakes and study article only watchtowers for witnesses, saves alot of paper and printing.

throughout the course of our marriage, my new bride and i have often times discussed the bible and jw practices, etc.
she has been on here once before and this evening she wishes to venture here again.
i have to go to a high school reunion meeting, lol, and so i shall leave her to her own devices with all of you, my friends here.

hubby and i were arguing about something, and in my frusteration, i screamed that we couldn't even have a family like normal people.
he was flabergasted and asked why, i explained that i pretty much had thrown that notion out the door because if it ever came to faith, i wouldn't want to raise them jw and he would.
i explained that i could never deny my child treatment that would save his life due to the blood issue.
The JW parent (especially if a father) would have to at least put on the appearance of trying to "save" his child from a so-called "god-dishonoring" blood transfusion or else face possible congregation discipline.
You need the consent of both parents???

I thought with the blood issue though, that if a parent refused a blood transfusion for a minor, then the minor would be handed over to the state and they would do the transfusion anyways???

i recieved a phone call from her yesterday inviting us for diner at a restaurant.
the first thing she said to me was "you didn't go to the meeting today didn't you?
Wow, mem, that sucks...
Why not try preparing a question or reply for her the next time she says something like that???

my daughter goes to a school where one of the office personel is a jw.
my hubby is df'd i haven't been to a meeting in 3 years.
when we go into the office and have to talk to her she directs all of her responses to me even if my husband is the one that asked the question.. once my husband went in there with my daughter and this person didn't direct her answers to my husband who asked the question, but to my daughter who was just tagging along.. this is stupid.

I personally find myself pulling away from my family a bit more because I think they are on to my thinking and they bug me about crap all the time... "If the elders say go left, are you going to go right???" They are unreasonable...
