Hamburger - fluff time
by larc ini have been very busy translating the dead sea scrolls and finding out how to explain to everyone what is the meaning of life, so i feel a need to take a break from my ponderous works to ask all of you a pregnant question, to wit, what is your favorite dish that is mainly comprised of hamburger, or contains hamburger as a major ingredient?
i do request that you only provide one, and only one selection.
(those who disobey this rule will be disfellowshipped and will not get a christmas present from me this year, even if i promised you one.

The Watchtower - Hustling Pocket Change
by metatron inapparently, at some assembly halls they are removing the pay phones and replacing them with their own phone lines - with a contribution box next to it.. you may already know about district assemblies where they put 'out of order' signs.
on working vending machines to prevent the rank and file from using them.. how much money do they expect to make from this?
they are trying to hustle pocket change!.

I too have noticed the "out of order" signs on vending machines.
Also in my local there are two hotels next to the convention center who set up food stands out side and on their own hotel property during the lunch hour to sell food and drink. I found it to be very convienient to the alternative of running to a store in the morning and packing lunch for a family of 5.
For the past several years they started giving talks prior to the convention that we should not buy food from these vendors.
What difference does it make if I buy my food from a Marriott or A&P ?
The WTS does not want to provide food service, tell me I am on my own and then tell me where not to buy the food. What are they going to do next, lock the doors at lunch so no one can go outside?

I also have trouble making new friends, even when I was a JW.
Check out some internet dating sites like match.com These are other people looking to meet new people too. You will have more dates than you know what to do with. You will be able to meet new people in the comfort of your own home and then go out if it looks like you have something in comon.
It worked for me.... this is what I know.
Best wishes, I may be coming to Vegas next year for a confrence, if I do I will lookyou up before I come.

Yeru,
Sorry to hear about your split. I had experienced many of the same things with my ex wife, until after 18 years of marriage we split. I was crushed when we split up, but I can say after 2 years I am happier even though I wish it had never happened.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Top Five Scriptures Ignored by the Watchtower
by metatron inwitnesses love to believe the bible is 'their book',.
that it applies to them exclusively, and that no part.
of it contradicts the organization they have come to.

Metatron,
I enjoy reading your posts. This kind of information is what helped open my eyes to the selective nature of the Watchtower in using scriptures to meet their ends.
Do you mind if I copy this and email it to a few people?

Need help for someone hurting by JW rules.
by BeelzeDub ini know i have not properly introduced myself here yet.
i have been doing the fade from jw religion for about one year but may soon be d/a myself just before i speek out again the elders about what they are doing to someone close to me.
more on my story soon.

DJ
I think talking with her children one on one would be a good thing at this point. They are aware of what has gone on and they are sympathetic to her. However when a young daughter is under the control of her JW husband who may insist that she not talk to her mother, this could create a problem for her.
What does this man have to say for himself?
He says nothing for himself, he is a coward and will not meet with the elders even though they would like to talk to him. Yet he claims he is inocent. When his own children try and adress it with him, he cut them out of his life and has no contact with even his own children or grandchildren.
What reason could he possibly give for wanting to disgrace his wife this way?
The man is a coward, he cares only about how he looks to others, even at the expense of his own family. A classic narcicist who thinks only of himself, and of anyone who does not believe his side of the story, he cuts them off. Sad, very sad.
Does he really believe that he should be believed now?
Good question. The elders did not really believe him, but since they had never had this situation come up before the decided to write the society about it. Then came down the legalistic order that his denial would stand, so now they have put themselves in the possision where they can't back down because God (aka the WTS) has spoken.
What was his point?
True to the WT tradition his point is to protect how HE looks and to keep himself from getting disfellowshiped.

There is a rumour...
by caballoSentado inhi friends,.
i need confirmation about a rumour i keep hearing about in my country.
several jw's who know about the wt-un affair are saying that in usa the wt is having the elders in the congregations give a speech accepting the blame for this scandal & asking for forgiveness or something similar.

WT is having the elders in the congregations give a speech accepting the blame for this scandal & asking for forgiveness....
BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The WT claims to speek for god and does not have to ask forgiveness for anything... they just blame it on God when they make errors.
