How common is swinging among JWs?

my wife and i recently heard about two couples we know who switched partners in the past.

we then got to talking about a different couple we ate dinner with a while back who i thought gave off the vibe of wanting to swing.

my wife said she got that vibe too... thus the question: how common is this in wt-land?.

I'm useless with names, can't think of the CO you mean, but I'm sure I'd know him - PM anyone?

In Perth, north of the river, there was a CO and his wife that brought a young woman into the "truth" and she went on to be very close friends with them both. She even kept a room at her house for them so that they could come and stay if ever they needed a place. Well I remember being out in field with her, and she would get phone calls from him, and then get all secretive and smiley and walk off to talk to him. Turns out they were doing the deed and had been for quite some time. When the shit hit the fan, they ran away together to Queensland and are married now. I think reinstated as well even? Groan.

simon green and his wife angie are our guests on the call.

they are the founders and administrators of perhaps the largest critical site of the watchtower ( jwn discussion board) simon tells the callers that he is shutting the board down for posters.

Studying my faith away

i want to introduce myself.

i'm a 28 year old active, married jw from belgium.

in the preceding months (i'd say starting from about march) i've been slowly losing my faith.

Illuminator... what a great post, I love it when witnesses come to a realisation of truth from good, old-fashioned research. That knowledge is empowering, and it will give you a great basis for escaping the mind control. I was in your position a couple of years ago.

I wish you the best, and I, like others, would also encourage you to fade. I would love it if I could encourage you to stand up and speak out, but sadly I know that being honest and earnest just leads to a mafia-like shutdown. I did have some success in quietly passing on knowledge to those open to it, and if you can then do it. Otherwise your priority is you. Work your arse off at finding good external support so you have somewhere to turn when your supposed friends turn against you.

came out as an apostate to the wife, came out about the depression, anger at being second fiddle in her life to 9 old guys in brooklyn, came out about having turned atheist, came out about the indiscrections, the tobacco use, everything.. fuck.

Oh my goodness... just read your last post, you left! Congratulations. I believe you've done the right thing. You will have some very sad and lonely times for a little while, but in the end I think you will see that you did the right thing.

Six of nine, eggplant (aubergine) tastes like zucchini with alfoil? Okay, that's blasphemy right there.

You obviously haven't been doing it right. Eggplant needs to be cut first, then sprinkled with salt and left a little while till the juices come out. Then before you fry it, give each piece a squeeze so there is no juice left and fry in olive oil until well browned. The flavour like that is AMAZING... I dare you to not like this dish!

You serve it as a warm dip, spread on fresh bread, or stirred through pasta. I'd make it for you myself if I was in Djibouti.

PS Roughly chop the capsicums too, into large bits. Make sure you salt the eggplant a bit too, adds to the flavour. Trust me, this recipe is amazing..

I thought only Australians called it eggplant? I have an amazing Egyptian Eggplant recipe. You fry up whole slices, put into a baking dish, then fry up 10 cloves of garlic with lots of olive oil, add a couple of green capsicums (peppers?) and 2 whole chopped chillis, the long red ones. Slightly brown them. Add in salt, pepper, two large spoons of tomato paste, splash vinegar and enough water to make a bit of a sauce. Pour it over the eggplant, arrange it a little so it mixes, and then bake it up in a medium oven for 20 mins or so. Serve with warm crusty Turkish bread. OH HELLO.
