this weekend i was feeling creative and since any effort to shake this nagging feeling utterly failed, i decided to do some wt covers.
the result is now before you...they are somewhat simplistic because i did them in paint(tm), i still crave paintshop but haven't been able to get hold of it as of yet..... so here they are:.

i have left the org for many years now.
sometimes i think jehovah is there, sometimes i think there cannot be a god for all the suffering that we see happening in this world.. just lately i have been wondering if god really exists, is the bible his word or is it all just a load of b*****ks.
i have looked into other religions, buddhism for instance, i believe we are spiritual, but is there a need for a god?
I guess the only answer i have for myself at the moment is, 'i don't know'. But its an educated ' don't know ' and not just a blind statement.
A very well put definition of Agnosticism! I picture agnosticism as a state of balance...the agnostic says that there is something to say for and against both positions ( God exists vs God doesn't exist) but the evidence is circumstantial and not hard enough to warrant a definite conclusion, hence the educated 'I don't know'. It is indeed not a blind statement. Often in science we have to conclude that we don't know. Nice talking to ya!

for the most part of my life, i have lived in this small community, in this quiet street, next to this older couple.
i think i have lived next door to them for almost twenty years.
in all that time the only contact i had with them, was when we both were in our garden at the same time, or when we saw each other at the grocery store.
It is amazing that I can live next door these people, and never really got to know them.
So true! I live in a street with about 75 people in it and I only know 6 people from it!
Sad really!

i am vivamus' mum, and i have heard so much about you, that i'd like to meet you all myself.
i joined the witnesses in 1998, but i have always doubted the organization, but not the faith.
i am still jehovah's witness, but i am sure that the elders will kick me out as soon as possible, should they know what my real thoughts about the organization are.
Hi Viv's mum!
First of all a very warm welcome to the board! I am from the Netherlands too, Leiden to be exact. Viv and I mail occasionally so I already know a little bit about you. Glad to see you hop on so soon!
Most warm greetings ,
Greven.

Gumby,
I see what you mean, it does look a bit like an alien but I do not think it was intentional. Sometimes things just look that way because the human mind is geared towards recognizing shapes. Take a look at these ones for example:
And the famous WTC demons:

Hey dig!
I have been an Agnostic too for a while. I went from JW to 'normal' Christian. Then I started doing more research on the bible leading me to Agnosticism and researching even more I became Atheist. Maybe new research will lead me too change my opinion again, who knows?. In each fase I was happy, yet curious and openminded. I think that is the state of mind everybody should adopt.
I wish you well in your quest for truth!

so i'm helping out my mother with her garage sale this weekend.
kinda boring sitting around in the heat (although i can't complain too much since we were in a nice patch of shade and had a decent breeze).
a "customer" pulls in and my mother quietly whispers to me "isn't that so-n-so's dad (a dub girl i went to school with).
Aparently my parents were 'spiritually weak':
They married in 1975 and wanted to have children right away. On top of that: In the event they died they had it written in their will that I were to be raised by my aunt and uncle (not JW's)! Eventhough I am inactive I am still welcomed with unconditional love and my opinions valued.
I feel very greatful for that. I that is also the reason why I try so hard to make them see this religion is a snare and a racket.

have you ever noticed how many laws there are to protect the stupid people?
take the seat belt law for instance, smart people know to buckle themselves in.
we are now interfering with evolution by protecting stupid people from themselves.
