by ozziepost in....the november 1st issue of the watchtower so that you can follow along with the elder who is there to repeat the article out loud and you will be encouraged to "cultivate a giving spirit".. it'll last 15 minutes.

The Circuit Overseer Says 'Just Do More'.........
by minimus inmy mother told me that last night's meeting was about how we all simply have to do more.
if we are asked to work on a saturday, we should know that saturday morning belongs to jehovah and that the automatic answer simply is "no, that time is set aside for jehovah.
" he said our congregation is down to 60 something publishers and we simply just can't afford to lose anymore..... he gave an example of a boy and his dad that were out hunting.

That feeling of sadness is very familiar! I never felt anger towards these people, just felt sorry for them that they were under a spell or delusion. I do however, feel some anger though towards the system and those in control of it...
About the mags, maybe we can arrange something, as I said I still get them trough my parents... mail me and we'll work something out. Library access is a bummer though. What were you interested in? I might have the material you want as I did read alot of the old books, taken notes and have the cd-rom so...

I have a regular supply as my mom and sis are still "in". Access to the library sounds fun...see if you can get a hold of a copy of Preparation ("voorbereiding" in dutch) or God's Harp. Some interesting things in those that your kind elder will have a hard time to explain. Preparation for example contains very clear statements that the annointed receive angelic messages... :oD It was this book that hit me hard when I first started to read the older publications.... :o)
Maybe you could stumble some bro's by your stunning looks: "Look them apostates got all the hotties! Let's get outta here!"

That behaviour was undeed unchristian, ie not following the teachings of Christ. The cause of that behaviour is much more simple and much older too: power corrupts.
The Church was in total control and wasn't going to let it slip away. Abandonning the founding principles and the original high ideals so was no objection at all. Religion had become a means of gaining control over people. Instead of liberating mind and spirit it became a way to subdue them.
