if you were in a situation where you were the manager for a company with two branches, and you were told that you could be promoted to a better office, improved salary etc by becoming regional manager, but only if most of the people in your branch lost their jobs and the rest were incorporated into the other branch, would you take the promotion?.

I WENT TO THE MEETING LAST NIGHT!!

well, we had the co visit last night and some friends "encouraged" me to go.

i really didn't feel like it, but i wanted to see if there was any "new light" on the pedophile problem, so i went.

not a word mentioned about any internal problems; however, the borg now apparently wants us to dupe people into having a bible study without even knowing it.

This will, no doubt increase the number of biblestudies worldwide. What a witness to Jah, when you have to resort to trickery to boost the numbers! Remember 15 min. rule? Same tactic!

will jehovah's witnesses who celebrate birthdays now only be considered as not being "mature" christians?

This is simply not true! Read the following from the 1904 WT:

Even though Christmas is not the real anniversary of our Lord's birth

, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (Luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our Lord's birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date. We may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate - "Christmas day."

So It seems they were well aware that Christ wasn't born on Dec. 25th and therefore did NOT celebrate his birthday. They simply decided not to quibble.

You can still be DF'ed for celebrating.

or maybe you left and then researched it to confirm your reasons for leaving?

i must have been a real dumb ass cus i held on by the skin of my teeth wanting it to be "the truth", what a twit, did all my research internally and must have spent the last 3 years of being a jw battling against the evidence and getting a bigger headache for it.

I didn't move me much. It was boring and a real drag. I started researching it because God could possible not want me bored to death in order to be saved....
