What would YOU do?
by SYN inif you were in a situation where you were the manager for a company with two branches, and you were told that you could be promoted to a better office, improved salary etc by becoming regional manager, but only if most of the people in your branch lost their jobs and the rest were incorporated into the other branch, would you take the promotion?.
that's an interesting moral puzzler, isn't it?.
so, is it the money or your employees?.

I WENT TO THE MEETING LAST NIGHT!!
by Mary inwell, we had the co visit last night and some friends "encouraged" me to go.
i really didn't feel like it, but i wanted to see if there was any "new light" on the pedophile problem, so i went.
not a word mentioned about any internal problems; however, the borg now apparently wants us to dupe people into having a bible study without even knowing it.

This will, no doubt increase the number of biblestudies worldwide. What a witness to Jah, when you have to resort to trickery to boost the numbers! Remember 15 min. rule? Same tactic!

World's first inflatable church has yeserday opened it's doors. It features an inflatable organ, a preaching chai made of PVC, an altar filled with air and fake glass and lead windows. It's fourteen meters high, and sezen meters across. It offers room for about 60 worshippers and costs about 31.000 Euros (about equal to 31.000 american dollars). Already people from 20 countries have shown interest in the project.
This chuch was cooked up by the british designer Michael Gill. He hoops it will breaths some live back into christianity, because preachers can now spread the message anywhere. It makes going to church more accessible, he claims. He has been asked to design infatable mosques and synagoges as well. Talking about hot air, sheesh! Greven

Can Jehovah's Witnesses Now Celebrate Birthdays?
by UnDisfellowshipped incan jehovah's witnesses now celebrate birthdays without being disfellowshipped or disassociated?
will jehovah's witnesses who celebrate birthdays now only be considered as not being "mature" christians?

I thought this was an interesting tidbit:
Also, The Watch Tower of February 15, 1909, related that at a convention in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A., Brother Russell, then president of the Society, was ushered onto the platform. Why? He was given a surprise birthday present of some boxes of grapefruit, pineapples, and oranges. That gives us a glimpse of the past. To put matters in their context, recall that during that period, Bible Students also commemorated December 25 as the anniversary of Jesus’ birth, or birthday.
This is simply not true! Read the following from the 1904 WT:
*** w04 12/1 364 (not on CD-ROM) ***
Even though Christmas is not the real anniversary of our Lord's birth
, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (Luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our Lord's birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date. We may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate - "Christmas day."So It seems they were well aware that Christ wasn't born on Dec. 25th and therefore did NOT celebrate his birthday. They simply decided not to quibble.
You can still be DF'ed for celebrating.

Did you want it to be "the truth" or..
by Brummie indid you just get the eck out of there and couldnt give two hoots?
or maybe you left and then researched it to confirm your reasons for leaving?
i must have been a real dumb ass cus i held on by the skin of my teeth wanting it to be "the truth", what a twit, did all my research internally and must have spent the last 3 years of being a jw battling against the evidence and getting a bigger headache for it.

I didn't move me much. It was boring and a real drag. I started researching it because God could possible not want me bored to death in order to be saved....
Glad it wasn't truth.
