i remember watching that young people ask video "how can i make real friends".
they were saying that jehovah can be your best friend, and you have to view him as a real person.. even when i was a jw, i could never buy into this crap.

One way communication and no way of reply or some other verification that the message was received quickly evaporates any hope. By definition it is meaningless and quickly becomes ritualistic. Something you do because it is expected frm you by others, like praying before starting on a meal.

hello.........this is a first for me- i've been reading some of your messages for some time now, and i must say you guys study your watchtower far better than i ever did.
i'm still a part of the congregation (and an elder), but i have to say i agree with many of your criticisms of the organization.
we've become just like the pharisees that jesus condemned............at our last assembly, the do and co warned against apostate material over and over again..........so i certainly think you're having a tremendous impact on their actions.

I came to the same conclusions as you did after reading "The Greatest Man..." and "commentary on james".
Even the pharisees were sincere most likely. However in their effort to chain the people to the law they over looked the founding principles of it. Jesus message was all about not looking at the letter and inventing definitions/interpretations but rather look at the meaning and intent. His mean message was don't judge!

Same here! Somehow I connect better to women, since early childhood this has been the case. I don't like the guy-macho subculture that lingers when guys are among each other. Females are more...errrm 'mature' or something I dunno really....

The anger, shouting and raving only confirms the apostate stereotype. It has been said by other poster: it scares people away. I think it does more harm than good.
Here in the Netherlands I have never seen such a thing BTW. It surprises me actually it still happens in the US...
Displaying or distributing flyers (cars,toilets, seats) with research websites is much more effective and let's people retain their dignity IMHO.

i lost that desire, but since my entire kitchen is covered in cleaning-soap, i cannot really stop it.
