probably from the official sources in New York and branch facilities around the world when inquiries were made regarding the membership, not only has correspondence never been answered I myself contacted the Service Desk of the London branch expressing my concern over reports I'd heard about the the Un membership and the brother categorically denied they had ever joined, if that isn't a lie then I'd love to know his meaning of the word.

what they thanked the Guardian after their membership was exposed? and why did they persistently lie when they secretly joined at the outset and even blatantly lying about it after? hypocrisy of the highest order, they consistently use this pathetic excuse of "oh we aren't a member anymore or what's important is what we are doing now! sorry but bullshit doesn't wash.

that jehovahsjudgment link has been around for sometime, they cant get out of their membership that easily, splitting hairs about what constitutes being an acceptable NGO within the UN! how pathetic, why did they lie about their membership then dump it when The Guardian article was published? desperate.

British zone visit from David Splane - a report from the special meeting in Glasgow
by slimboyfat inwell i went to a "special meeting" in the armadillo today where a 2 & 1/2 hour programme was relayed from london at 1pm.
apparently the letters of invitation only went out a month or so ago and not all congregations were invited.
there were 2,900 of us from around scotland.

talk about creative accounting, putting the Irish and British figures together! I'm also rather sceptical about the Chinese growth in the UK, if that is evident there would be some news of how the work is increasing in the mainland, I reckon there are a mere few pockets of JW's among China's population of over a billion.
SBF; Evangelical Christianity is absolutely booming in the main cities especially in inner London, and also the churches that feature charismatic pastors from West Africa, every where I drive I see buildings converted to an Evangelical Church, as is Islam, our local news is covering planning application for a large new Mosque a couple of miles from us, its is also a couple of miles away from a "super Mosque" that was built a few years ago on the site of a former milk diary, the main stream churches may be suffering decline but not these 2 mentioned.

to their credit the church is responding aggressively but not only is it too late, it is an impossible task.

I had a couple of former JW friends who studied with the Mormons down here , I even sat in on a study my mate had with these 2 ladies, she became frustrated with my constant requests for proof about their religious claims even getting to the pint of becoming rude and confrontational, although I found some of their "proof texts" on certain subjects fairly reasonable and they seemed to have a better knowledge of their doctrine and scripture then most equivalent Dubs, another mate (ex jw) almost made the full step into it , even attending the Temple in Mitcham, I see there is a big temple in Ewell as well.

thanks BU2B, I didn't actually print the significance of the NGO and the difference of membership that an actual nation has compared to a religious organization but I did briefly explain it to them, I don't get the chance to chat with them much at all, but this tactic I have honed in my mind and with the mixture of a zealous former Dub using training form the Reasoning book I really know how to hit them, a few years ago I cornered a JW near my work place and my mate who was with me was astounded how I rubbished their doctrinal claims etc, also admitting from the outset that I'm an atheist helps as well because it avoids the pointless waste of trinity/born again debates, its impossible for them to out manoeuvre me

Interesting conversation

last night i had a very interesting conversations with my wife after she came back from the meeting and several things jumped out at me that made see even more clearly how sick this religion is.
first of all, several months ago we attended a wedding of a friend.

well done , you acted with dignity against your wife's vile hateful words, I couldn't have kept quiet that easily, I had the same issues also in my JC with the accusation that I had weakened the faith of my fellow brethren, I had to almost beg for forgiveness in the JC appeal but in my heart I was giving the middle finger to the idiots judging me, the thing is these R&F have this macabre almost voyeuristic pleasure in confronting people like us in wanting to hear our honest feelings, they are strange people.
