from what I've seen I'd agree, god knows how Lett ever became a GB member, Splane seems a decent speaker.

Impressions of the Governing Body; who's smart, who ain't?
by Room 215 inbased on what we've seen, it seems to me that of the seven, splane and jackson are the smartest; herd, lett and morris the least intelligent; and sanderson and losch somewhere in the middle.

they never call here, in the 20 years since I moved away they called once at a place where I lived after I separated from my wife, we had a good chat ( they had no idea who I was)and I invited them back , they never returned , I moved away from there in 2002 and have not had one single call in the places I lived since, although the Mormons used to call quite regularly NEVER ever leave an opportunity to anti witness to them , and every time I see newbies on the cart I will go over to them and chat. -

sorry to hear this , it truly sucks, exactly the same happened to me when my mum passed in April, I got to hear about it a few days later through my BiL screaming down the phone to me.Its a very strange feeling, its hard to even be sad or mourn, naturally I was forbidden to attend the funeral , difficult to know what to say. -

New member checking in
by Old Major inbeen reading for about 2 and a half years, thought i would take the plunge and sign up.. my circumstances... i live in uk, serving as ms. i am fully awake.
i can not leave due to family, so just treating the meetings as a bit of a social club.
i would like to give out more details, but i think you all know the drill.. complete disillusionment and i suppose natural curiosity woke me up.. don't know what else to say right now, just hello, and i hope to get to know some of you guys better.

Sad Reality...

sure it has trickled down to the elders and those who volunteer for construction but the average jw has no idea.

its true they are always left in the dark, it makes me slightly angry when I chat with them and they plug jwdotorg and I tell them yes I look at it regularly, it tells absolutely nothing about your UN membership, ARC hearing on child abuse cover-ups etc, it stops them in their tracks, hopefully it makes them think outside of the box -

I went down in the first Round!
by John Aquila inthere is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.
i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.
i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

but that contradicts all their boasting about "speeding up the work, expansion, the celestial chariot moving at speed, preaching in over 200 plus lands etc" if they were to dwindle away to a small minor group none of this could ever be accomplished and they would just be forgotten about or never given a second though by the 7.3 billion of the earth's inhabitants, what about this great "cleaning of the earth at the GT?" surely this could never be very well achieved by a mere few hundred k?
