if you had told me as an active jw that one of the most respected long serving member of the British branch was a very close friend with one of the most notorious jw paedophiles in memory I would have simply dismissed it as nothing short of apostate lies, you really could not make this stuff up, I wonder what other dirty seedy secrets him and his former colleagues are aware of? I remember this PoS giving talks at DC's as a kid. -

Drage was in a very embarrassing situation concerning his friendship with convicted paedophile Michael Porter ( now in good standing in my former cong Wimbledon) the scandal that would have engulfed the British branch had he stayed as a committee member would have been huge, clearly he was told to resign, not too sure about Ellis and Dowson, I'm presuming Ellis retired, would be interesting to know who is on the committee now. -

"the jw's have a ring of truth about them"
the clean up job after the murder of possibly 10 billion humans not including billions upon billions of animals after the GT, its been proven that the idiot that mentioned ANTI MATTER will be a non starter, you really dont want to be messing about with stuff, then a resurrection onto a paradise earth for the many more billions that have perished throughout time! any idea about the environmental consequences with all these corpses rotting away ? LOL
no ring of truth from them to me, just a fantasy.

dont they just love the prospect of it, the dangling of the carrot in front of the nose of a ravenous donkey, shame they have all died and will eventually die sad and disappointed. -

It amazes me...
by punkofnice in..to think about how the congregations actually function....even down to the individual level.. the biggest bully on the boe (or his wife), controls the show.. ones within the congregation are treated like they're dirt and still they return.
stockholm syndrome?.
i've heard ones say that 'jehovah(tm) will sort it all out.

agree there Punky along with CO's have we all here ever met a group of arrogant, self serving, haughty, jumped up, judgmental pair then the PO and CO? they dont function though do they, they are mere springboards for their lives and views, how many are being disbanded and merged ? they are not even surviving, they are dying long slow deaths. -

Is the Watchtower organisation facing the biggest crisis of its history?
by slimboyfat inrecent developments make me think they might be.
the problems they are facing are not just lack of funds but also draining authority, and the two could be a heady and explosive mix.
one of the best analyses ever written of the watchtower was a book called "trumpet of prophecy" by sociologist james beckford in the 1970s.

Have we become what we despise so much?
by Tenacious inthe majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.
upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.
again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

"the Bible stands up to close scrutiny" LOL
what like the global flood?
the feeding of the 5000?
a man walking on water?
a resurrection of Lazarus?
Jonah being swallowed by a giant fish?
the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah?
the original sin?
the creative days?
ah yes all stand up perfectly to any sort of scrutiny

speak for yourself, I like to think I've become the very opposite of what we allegedly despise and your blatant generalization is both judgemental and ill founded, I bet you don not know one single person on this forum personally, perhaps do some more searching. I've never felt hatred or feel I despise the religion of my birth, I feel far more empathy to the victims of the cult, bear in mind I've been yelled at, told I'm possessed, had my mental health questioned, shunned and suffered a marriage break up,excluded from attending my own mothers funeral, yet I still speak to them politely and courteously, quite and achievement I'd say.
