Here in the south, in Georgia, leaving still seems to be a solitary deal. Maybe its the bible belt mentality. I don't know. Is the experience a little different in other areas of the country or world where it comes to leaving the JWs? Are there areas that have more of a chance that a whole family will leave the truth rather than just one member? There is only a handful I know of in my area that are out but because of the shunning rules and different reasons for being out, we don't easily find each other. DJP

Even if you glossingly leave the 'devil out of the details' this turns into an elitist dinner so to speak.
You have an annual meal with a deity that is only had with a select few individuals with millions observing and giving praise to the arrangement.
The rank & file are blind and deceived to be invited to a 'meal' only not to eat anything. What is the point?

From humble Bible Students to CULT MEMBERS under Rutherford's compulsion
by Terry infirst, pastor russell had joined adventist bible students in their enthusiam for end times chronologies.. next, russell teamed up with leading adventist thinkers like george storrs and barbour to publish these chronologies and apologies.. finally, russell used his private wealth to cut and paste ideas from all over the religious map into his own peculiar name-brand version of adventism which included pyramidology.. local congregations kept autonomy.
russell would have it no other way.
but, russell had died in 1916.. .

This is wonderful Terry.
I will be adding to my list of important articles.
Just as a backdrop I have copied a 1901 Watchtower to my blog that gives an idea of how Russell truly saw worship from the stand point of a central organization. He didn't like it and it was so different than it is now. Watchtower July 15, 1901

Good vs Evil.....does the existence of God prove the existence of Satan?
by wings indoes not believing in god bring evil down to a simple explanation of the conflict that is within every human being.
seems to me the "force" is at work in the world, and the "force" is both good and evil.
sometimes it is easier for me to believe in the existence of satan than the existence of god.

This is very interesting topic.
A friend of mine had described the aspect of GOOD and EVIL as similar to HOT and COLD.
COLD DOESN'T EXIST! COLD IS ONLY THE ABSENCE OF HEAT.
DARKNESS DOESN'T EXIST! DARKNESS IS ONLY THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT.
If using the same analogy, EVIL ONLY EXISTS DUE TO THE ABSENSE OF GOOD.
In proving the existance of God you ultimately prove that Satan exists because of the Yin and yang principle. Because God, according to the bible, is love or the application of love. The misapplication of love would obviously be Satanic. -

Thanks. For some, the internet is going to be their only way out. The internet structure is diametrically apposed to how most other organizations are set up. Most organizations = Elite on top, Rank&File on bottom. Internet = masses control their own intake and think for themselves. I click where I want. My conscience is my own. Daniel 11:38,39 referencing Oil Age?
by DJPoetech ini was doing a little research and always had interest in the "god fathers did not know" "foreign god" from daniel 11:38. i fell into reading up on our current "oil age" and was surprised to find out that it is on its way out.
unfortunately all the things developed from this age such as plastics, cosmetics, medicines, raid (for those buggys), and a miriad of other things is kinda of bundled up in it too.
as a matter of fact our population boom since the industrial age is directly tied to the discovery of the oil deposits in the earth.

Thanks for the response Still. I admit that many do twist the scriptures for their own agendas. The very reason they twist the scriptures and not, lets say for argument, a passage from Dr Seuss towards a particular agenda is the weight the scriptures hold. My question wasn't to receive how valid the question was but to get a response from those who think outside the Watchtower's interpretations towards maybe a more plausible interpretation. All in the spirit of knowing that we won't see things perfectly clear until Jesus returns but we can humbly speculate without burdening anyone or scaring a particular interpretation off with ignorance.
