Who would be interested in a JWD book club?
by TheSilence ini've been thinking about organizing a jwd book club.
would anyone be interested?
everyone could throw out suggestions of books and i could pick one at random for each read.. i was thinking a book every 2 weeks, but i know a lot of people have kids and obligations so maybe every month would be better?

Converstation with the doctor: not medical
by orangefatcat inthis very afternoon i went to see my doctor and after the medical discussion was over, he asked me if anyone in the family has contacted me or is speaking to me.
in fact for the past nine years he has asked me the same question and i telll him the same answer no.. he is very well informed when it comes to witnesses.
a huge percentage of jw's are his patients.

You're miserable and just don't know it. You were much happier scrubbing floors for a living. Having a meaningful career sucks.
It takes balls to leave JW's, and to those who don't, all the convincing in the world cannot truly help. If they're not ready, they're not ready. To those that are stuck, they need to grow balls to take the plunge out. They're so desperate they ask doctors eh? Doesn't suprise me.
I'd like to know the percentage that are on AD's compared to other people.

Any one have the 2006 statistics yet.
by 5go ini got them in my km.. 3% growth for the us and world wide.. 9,105 partakers up from last i think.. this is from memory right now.
i might sneak the km in to my scanner soon assuming someone hasn't already..

IMPORTANT: Elders Mtg at Patterson
by confusa ina witness just informed me about a couple that we know who had their assembly recently, and it was announced at the private elder's meeting that there will be a special meeting with all the elders in the us in patterson.
it was mentioned that we are now living "in the end of end of times" and that the un is talking about prohibiting religions.
has anyone heard of this??

by shamus100 init's just so apperant that these people are so out of touch with reality that the whole world could just not give a crap.. the level of stupidity never ceases to amaze me.
these people just love to feel this incredible persecution, a feeling like they've been so 'hard done by', yet they are completely false.
nearly every religion has had persecution of some sort - jw's, despite they're bizarre and psychotic behavior are completely harmless.

Oh, I completely disagree Conac. The Catholic Church killed a lot more people than this stupid little group of people ever did. I don't condone they're behavior, but I just don't care either. They're problems are not my problems. It's up to each member to get out on they're own. And if you get some out, then there's plenty of morons that will take they're place. I realize that babies and people with no rights because they are minors get caught up in it, but by and large the authorities deal with it. Just like they try to at least with the Catholic Church. Think of the big picture.
My point is, you can whine, cry, stomp your feet, but some people need that garbage to lift they're self-esteem. It's pathetic, but true. I know- I was one of them! We were all JW's at one time - and it felt good to feel persecuted, on some level, didn't it? Whoever needs that self-esteem boost at the proper time will be prime candidates for JW's, Christian Scientists, and the like.

If you have two functioning brain cells in your head, you can quickly realize that they are a bunch of loonie toons. The teachings are laughable, the meetings borderline hilarity with the spoon-fed answers to they're desperate audience.
Now that I've been on the outside for some years, and have come back free of even popping into this site, it strikes me in the realm of hilarity that someone on this planet really believes that crap. Yet people do! The world has some half-wits; JW'S fill that void in they're lives. Don't stop believing......
