I don't hate Roman Catholics at all. I know several that are quite active in they're church, and they don't push it on me ever.
Another JW lie.
this is actually a serious question.. when i was a jw, i was taught all kinds of things about how horrible the rcc is.
i believed it.
many years after leaving the wts, i began looking into the rcc for myself and discovered that everything i had been told about the rcc by the wts was a lie.
I don't hate Roman Catholics at all. I know several that are quite active in they're church, and they don't push it on me ever.
Another JW lie.
okay maybe i'm a little slow but i'm finally beginning to understand how all the "new light" is tied together.
this has all been prompted for me by my reading of the 1914 chapter in "crisis of conscience".
see, the door to heaven which was previously closed in 1935 has been reopened.
The truth, V.156.17
Join us next week for the updated V.156.18.
The 'light' (bullshit) keeps getting brighter and brighter (more ridiculous).
i'll be free from the bondage of the watchtower pharisees.. after over a year now of researching my belief in god and the watchtower society, i'm convinced that i can't live my life untill i'm out.. they finally just a few weeks ago deleted me as an ms, over six months after i asked them to.
that's a big relief.
they didn't get the hint from my 2 hrs.
What do I think?
I think you will never change they're minds. Even sowing seeds of doubt is just not worth it, IMO. You're going to be branded an apostate if you're not careful - just fade. Unless you want that kind of closure.
The month that you don't hand in your field service report, and they call you to ask you your hours and you say zero - that's another great time to celebrate. When the 'brother' asked me and I said zero, he looked at me like I had confessed to raping his cat. And oh, I sure miss handling the mic's too.
how do you deal with "no faith"?
what do you put faith in?
how was you transition from belief to non belief?
How do you deal with "no faith"? I know of no other way to live. Once you've done it for a while, it becomes easier.
What do you put faith in? Karma, good of humans. I firmly believe that the bible serves a purpose from creating complete anarchy. Once you realize that this is it, it can be a scary thing at first.
How was you transition from belief to non belief? As other had mentioned, it took years.
Does it bother you that others have faith in God, and why? No. We are all human, each with our own needs. If someone needs god, it's okay. In they're mind, they're 100% right. I accept that and never ever push my beliefs on them. Some people need alcohol and/or drugs to get them through the day. Religion is a much better alternative. I am absolutely not saying that people who have religious beliefs are below athiests - it's just what they're particular crutch is. And we all have them.
It takes time, but look at things more logically than the old expression 'there just has to be a creator... look at (example like how beautiful mountains are). That's basing faith on emotion.
no thinking no decisions to make just work at my menial job scrubbing toilets and washing windows, go out in service every week attend all the meetings answer at the appropriate questions and no oral sex...yes times would be so simple for me now but then i would have to deal with my atheism and i'm sure i will go directly to hell...
I, too wish I was a JW in good standing. You could come visit me and we could show up drunk to a kingdum hall, as where all the windows are, puke on the carpet, and read from the book of Satan.
steve gordon a dark tale.
newly baptized jw steve gordon has just dried off and changed back into his cheap watchtower suit.
he sits down in the hot stadium heat and rubs his smooth, shaven face and closely cropped hair.
Jehovahs Witnesses have the innate ability to make one think he's pleasing god (assuming you believe in god), wheras you are in fact displeasing god. You turn your back on everything and everyone and hurt people. You are being a very selfish person when you become one of jehovahs witnesses. It makes you feel good when you have low self-esteem and are in a needy stage in your life.
Thank you Farkel, and I still love you. Well, not literally. But you are still one of my favorite posters. You have a gift, you moody bastard.
in the 1970's i was a teenager.
i wasn't that big into disco- although i enjoyed kc and the sunshine band as well as earth, wind, and fire.
but my really big love in music was always rock n' roll, blues , stuff like that !
Tom Waits
Boney M
The Ramones
LIGHT ME UP.... WOOOO! oops, I just pooped my pants. Excuse me...
dont just list one, list them all so we can laugh because in all honesty i can't believe we believed some of them.
for example, i was told annie lennox stopped a concert to ask if there was any jw's in the audience, and if there was could they leave as they were stopping the demons getting through...is this even remotely true?
did annie lennox ask the jw's in the audience to move because they were stopping the snack lady getting through...and it got twisted through chinese whispers.... the other day (i felt sick) one witness was banging on about how amazing it was that the watchtower society's building was the only one standing still...wtf...my stepdad responded with a 'wow thats amazing' and the first brother was like 'yeah i know'...grrrrrrrrr aaaaaaaah screaaaaaaaaam .
ENOUGH! You're all making me sick.... I've heard most of those stories. UUUGH.
I remember KISS standing for Knights in Satan's Service. (ya right.... )
Or worse, AC/DC standing for after christ devil comes.... GIVE ME A BREAK. Were these people on drugs?
The smurf stories are that all-time favorite of all witnesses, IMO. Those demonized little fella's...
after all these years, i finally experienced this weird deep sense of calm, peaceful resignation.
i realized after desperately wanting my jw sister and the other witness family members to see the real "truth" about the organization that now i dont want to change them anymore.
i have absolutely no desire to pontificate on the absurdity of believing the doctrines and directives of the watchtower society.
Keep bashing your head against the wall, and you're bound to get a headache.
You will NEVER change them. They need to change. When people constantly bombard them with the real truth about the truth, they take it as persecution, and it cements they're belief that they are in the real religion. JW's are a cult - it's best to let them alone in most cases.
One day they will see the light. And if they don't, it's not your fault.
