I'm sorry you had to go through all that Sentinel. My hearing was exactly the same way only I went a different route. I told them more than they ever wanted to know and I wouldn't shut up despite their attempts to get me to. Of course by the time my DF hearing came about I was ready to tell the elders to kiss my ass. I had seen too much hypocrisy to care.

Surviving the Hearing to DF Me.
by Sentinel ini must say that reading all these posts have really brought back so many memories for me.
i had a terrible experience at my hearing, which i believe now, really bordered on sexual abuse of the mental kind.. our congregation was small.
this was difficult for the few young people that attended.

Wow, it worked. Please disregard the above image. I your message tool bar when you go to post you'll see one that says insert message from web link. I downloaded that GIF from my hard drive. That is only thing I can figure out. Otherwise I don't know how to make different Emoticons.

Why did Satan get to live so long?
by larc innow this question about satan and his longevity, is a farkel type question.
farkel, if you have covered this before, then i hope i did not plagerize.
well, anyway, we have this spirit creature who turns against god.

I always wondered...if God is sooo omnipotent then he knows what is going to happen before it actually happens. If this is the case, why does he throw a tantrum like a 6 year old when someone makes a wrong descision even though he knew that they would in the first place. Besides, Satan always sounded like a people person to me. And after being a JW I don't trust anyone who tells me not to listen to someone else. I like to find out for myself now.

Explain THIS!!
by MrMoe inok, now before you read this and speculate please note i knew very little if any of mayan culture or pink amazon dolphin.
some of you here on the board know about my dreams but i feel it is time to get some feedback from the rest of you.
i have other dreams, but am far too lazy to type them up.

I think there is a huge difference between not believing in something because you don't have evidence and believing that there is a possibility of something because there is no evidence present yet. To call the subject of this thread hand waving is basically calling Moe a liar. Because she has not run her dreams in a lab or presented them to you personally they must not have any significance or the story is made up. Being a Pagan myself I'm in the enviable position of not giving a shit about trying to convert anyone. Conversion requires a logical argument. I digress...an example of myself would be: I have never seen an alien from outter space but I don't dismiss the idea that they may exist. This does not mean that people who claim to have seen them are deluded it simply means that I haven't been a party to alien visitation.
Well I have seen and experienced many things that have not been proven by science. I see no need to discount them because of it or pretend that it is nonsense as was stated.

You're not alone betweenworlds reincarnation is the most commonly accepted belief in the world. I'm on the edge of being a believer with my own experiences but the skeptic in me keeps holding me back.

Being the Pagan that I am I try to have an open mind about these kinds of things. Although, I tend to go the science route first. That being said, it sounds to me like maybe a past life experience as opposed to predictions of the future. These things tend to be very ambiguous. D8TA asked for some people to email their dreams to him about a week or two ago. Anyway, my vote is for a past life recursion that manifested in your dreams. Despite the critics not all past life experiences are people who were cleopatra or some king. My own search has not been all that glorious. I believe that most people who dream about a messiah figure are dreaming about parts of themselves. Even Jesus said (in the book of Thomas) that God exists within us. Otherwise I would ask several different people who are qualified (or at least think they are) on what these dreams might mean. If anything it is fun to speculate.

Candles and JWs
by badboy ini wonder how many jws r aware that candles have pagan origins as admitted by bishop newman(sp?
) in the 19th century?
should a faithfull jw have anything to do with candles therefore?

This is so funny. You are correct Elsewhere, I remember getting into discussions when I was a JW about how superstitious other religions were. We would laugh at people who said 'bless you' when you sneezed or the ones who would knock on wood. I never knew about this one though. Although, between my candles, incense, and loads of Wiccan books everywhere I think my mother can figure out my beliefs.

A BIG Thank You!!!
by SpiceItUp ineven though i haven't associated myself with the jw's for several years, i have always had part of me that thought maybe it really was just me.

Just checked out your site. You certainly have the important attributes I lust after errrr.....you play the bass yeah that's it. Given your belief structure, poetry, and links I have to ask if you've ever been to a renaissance (blew that spelling) fair. I went to one for the first time a few weeks ago and had an awesome time. It just seems like the kind of thing that would fit you perfectly, of course I can only go by the limited amount of info you gave on your site. One thing I like about the fair was how nice everyone was. Much different than a JW convention ;)

I'm glad some of us could help. I know that even though I was out of the WTS for 12 years this site helped me find the closure that I wasn't even aware I needed. Now I just come here to BS and try to help others. I'm not the picket at the conventions type of guy as I know that while I was a witness we laughed at those people. I already have a huge amount of guilt ( I may post the story) of getting at least 3 people into the WTS with one of them being my friend of 15 years.
