It all sounds like kindergarden science fiction. I always laugh when I hear an uneducated JW trying to make sense of a complex subject.
By the way, it's good to see you again Lisa.
hey i wasn't making this up!.
*** kj 377 20 land of magog no more to threaten mankind ***.
the unburied dead, those slain by jehovah, will be so enormously many that even the carrion birds and scavenging wild beasts could never take care of their consumption.

what do you think of band wagon fans?
i mean good lord, i see new england caps here in louisiana!
i like ppl who are loyal to their team win are lose.
Living in Washington I'm used to bandwagon fans. I've been a Seahawk fan since I was a kid and we all know how many Super Bowls they've won. Everyone hated the Mariners and now they're the hot product. It is just an American thing, root for the winner forget the loser.
i say this because half the witnesses i knew never seemed to be into answering at meetings, preaching the good news, being united with others.you see when i got baptised which was about 2 years ago i was really into answering at meetings, preaching etc and guess what people in the hall thought there was something wrong with me,they would say things like youll get used to it, you wont be happy much longer, this made confused because i thought these people were really into what they did with there hearts.i was obviously wrong,i then started to wonder does going to meetings, preaching, etc really show your a true christian you know serving god with a whole heart, all these organised rules didnt really matter i thought, you see if these people had do bible research, arrange the preaching themselves do you think they would do it.i now believe that serving god through organisations doesnt really make you closer to god i think serving god on your own really shows ones heart condition and how much you love god.
p.s.
im not a" jw no more" and still working out religion etc, i do swear and lie now though lol
I was raised a JW and from ages 16-19 I was about as hardcore as you can get. Once my epiphany hit me I realized how unhappy I was with being a JW. I realized not only was I living in a fantasy world but I was in it with some of the most arrogant people on the planet. After that realization every meeting was a torture which I eventually turned into a comedy. I laughed at what these morons actually believed and I saw the Elders for who they were, the WTS own version of the SS.
when i think of the issue of disfellowshipping, i am often reminded of the nazi death camps.
often in the early days of nazi recruitment, the nazi's would encourage the new young members to report what was going on at home.
those with the best information, were rewarded with the most responsibility and authority.
OUCH! Mimilly. I've never read your story but that small bit of it is powerful. My story is nowhere near that bad as by the time the rumors started flying about me I really didn't care. I even went so far as to tell an Elder who was questioning me about a rumor that I'd talk to him when I felt something was his business. I did see this type of crap with others in my congregation though.
martial arts is the one thing the elders and i verbally sparred over for about 5 years.
it wasn't until i got df'd that i was able to attend an "official" class.
i had trained vicariously for about 4 years with a friend of mine who was a student of isshinryu karate.
Hey Comf, I really wanted to practice Aikido but the only good school near me is in Seattle and that is still too far away. Spaz...watch some the begining to Above the Law. Steven Seagal's main style is aikido. I had the instructer from Seattle come to my Isshin ryu class and give a demonstration. Some of the stuff he did was amazing, made all our black belts look like fools and never threw a single punch or kick. You're right SPAZ almost all physics.
some one asked: .
>>i don't understand.
i honestly do not understand how active jws can be presented with hundreds upon hundreds of cases that have occurred all over the world, and casually deny that there is any problem.<<.
Because the Governing Body is infallable.
Please note this is only true as long as you understand that they are imperfect men and make mistakes.
ok......fess up....who's got em and who wants em?
i myself have two tattoos ( i will post pics of them later tonight).
i have one on my shoulder - it the face of a cat, i call it my egyptian cat because the face is very concise.
Technically I have 4 tattoo's but I think I only have 2. Three of them are part of the same theme.
Upper right shoulder: Open swirling Yin-Yang with two kanji symbols on the left and the right. One means: Hard. The other means: Soft. I leave the purpose of those two up to the imagination.
Right calf: tribal just because I liked the design.
Both ears pierced and my left nipple at one time but no longer.
after all that we had drummed into us about not the cross, and particularly about not venerating the symbol itself, i have been wondering about this issue.. so, what are your views about wearing a cross around your neck ?
is it just a fashion accessory, or does it mean something to you ?.
inquiring minds would like to know
I think the cross is a non-issue as well. Some look really cool so I don't have a problem. But I get all kinds of crap when I wear my Pentagram necklace (the pentagram is about an inch across). Why are you wearing that? You trying to look cool like you worship the devil? Blah, blah blah.

once upon a time i thought it was quite demonic, i eventually ended up making a living at it for a time.. jung did some research in the field.. does anyone else have experience with the cards?.
Well being the skeptical bastard that I am I went for a reading. I didn't offer any info until the end of the session (she was fishing for information by the way). She got a few things correct and even fewer wrong. She said I had started school in the the last three months but more to the end of three months (in fact I had started school exactly 3 months before hand). She said I had a girl within a years time (my daughter was in fact 11 months old at the time). She said I had two choices to make in the path of my career within the last 6 months time (I was in fact deciding whether to go to school for a career or accept a position as a developer for a game company).
She said I was having financial difficulties (this was not true at the time but it is now). She said I will probably have another child within two years (no way in hell this is happening, one is enough).
Despite me just listening and not offering any info she was about 80% correct. Not too shabby but I'm still a skeptical bastard.
raven101: I'm also a believer in circular time and infinite choice.
well..this has been a good day.. i have been in depression for while now.
i just can't seem to break it.
but there are good days too.
Good deal. When I get off my lazy ass I'm going to start my yoga and Tai Chi up again (who knows when that'll be). However, I'm used to Tae Kwon Do so it is really hard for me to slow things down to Tai Chi speed. But I think the forms are beautiful. Yoga rocks, I avoided yoga for years because the old JW thing making me think the meditation portion would invite demons into me. Talk about superstitous.
