From a Biblical aspect...if that is what you are after....there is no NEED of a group who has it.
Love God ,and your fellowman and you should'nt need to 'worry'.....according to the Bible.
If your family and friends could see it that way, there would be no problem with any of you. THEY make the problem....not you cyg.

the corporation i work for let go more than 1/2 of our local staff today without severance pay.
many of those let go were close friends whom i'd like to stay in touch.
i feel guilty, however, that i'm still onboard!.
Can anyone offer wisdom on what I can say to these "friends" to break the ice?

reading the lb thread "home but hiding" struck a chord with me.. i remember when i was inactive for the period of about a year the elders made a few "sheperding calls".. did anyone else out there find these very rude and condescending?.
first of all, in my case at least they always showed up unannounced.
how much do you think those "hell-ders" would like it if someone randomly dropped by their house unexpected?
I made sheparding calls because it was REQUIRED to do so, though not regulated.
We would do it as we did service....."I NEED to go out this week", my time is low......"We NEED to do a sheparding call..... we haven't done one in a while".
You were suppose to call and set it up and call with a topic in mind. You were suppose to talk about something that would build them up.
Service of ANY kind in the borg becomes a JOB when it is demanded of you.

David simply had affection for him as do men with women.
Having AFFECTION for someone has nothing to do with sex desire.
I had great affection for my dog I lost a year ago. I cried harder, than when my own father died. It dosen't mean I was attracted to my pet in another way.

well i finally ordered crisis of conscience.
even though i've been da'd since 1989 the truth is that i always considered it to still be the truth up until a couple of years ago when i started researching more through sites like this.
i never got around to getting my hands on that book though, and now can't wait until it arrives.
