Do Witnesses have a Stronger Brotherhood than Christendom Does?

this came up in discussion between me and a fellow ex-dub buddy of mine.. as jw's, we had a brotherly unity.....at least many of us did.

if we were going somewhere and needed a witness to watch our place....even stay at our place, we had no reserves about being ripped off by them.

they were closer than some families members oftentimes and we even preferred being around them as opposed to "wordly" family members.

Really? Have you read the "letters" (epistles) in the bible? The first christians had turmoil from the gitgo and they still do. All of them interpret the bible as to how they see it and all of them have boundries. They cannot help BUT being judgemental. If you don't look to Jesus....your gonna die.....period! That's being judgemental isn't it? You'll find there are too many similarities with the witnesses and other christian faiths.

Yes, it's true not all churches are equal in their love for one another as to how they show it. Even the witnesses have hot and cold congregations. Some that leave the witnesses are never called on again and some are hounded to death. How is that different than other faiths?

Seriously religion is the oldest con known to man, followed by prostitution and marriage.

It's not a "con" as long as one KNOWS what they are getting for the price they pay.

How is marriage a con? When you say your vows, you've agreed to the terms.

If you pay a whore and she pays you with her services.....how is that a con?

Religion is the only one that's really a con in that you never recieve the reward unless you die.....and that's a maybe. Most religion offers a "hope" but no real payment back to you other than a piece of mind while your alive. Maybe that's a reward in itself to those who truely believe.

Of course this is another method that the enemy adopts to confuse the minds and furnish an excuse for not being faithful to the Lord. As every one knows, there are mistakes in the Bible and there has never been a book written yet that is perfect that has been written by any human hand.

Funny how Jehovah who is letting all this time pass to prove Satan a liar would let Satan look victorious for many centuries, allow people to misled for centuries, then decide to let the truth be known through a group of Russellites who had a 100% failed prophecy record. Makes sense to me.

I just had a relative tell me when I asked him where Russell got his truth from, that Wycliff, Calvin, Luther, were all no doubt of the annointed in their time. So, even though they believed in all the false doctrines the witnesses do not believe in.......they were of the annointed. Apparently Jehovah wasn't ready for them to learn pure doctrine at that time.

Excellent question Min!

The society teaches that since Pentecost (33ce.) that Jehovah has ALWAYS had a Faithful and Discreet Slave class on earth AT ALL TIMES dispensing food to each succeding generation. In other words.......Jehovah has always used his Slave to dispense spiritual food since Pentecost.....at ALL times.

If witnesses believe this, then WHY did Jehovah let the Catholics become the carekeepers of his word the Bible? They are the ones to compile the Canon we now have. It wasn't till the 50"s that the JW's printed their OWN bible. Since 1919 they were approved as christs true brothers, yet they used "wordly" bibles to gain truth from.

The witnesses will claim Jehovah has many times used his enemy to carry out his own agenda......but WHY use the Catholics to produce a bible when there was a slave here the entire time it was put together?

Yes they had a strong brotherhood among the ones who fit in but the ones who didn't were treated like crap!

Your right . It seems every congregation had cliques or groups. Camping trips usually included all the same ones who went the last time with maybe a few different ones who couldn't go before.

I suppose there are many groups who have this same problem except that other churches do not make the boastful claims the witnesses make about the unified love they have for all members inside. Slackers in the organisation ( those with little spiritual activity) are not treated the same as the "spiritually active" are.......unless your a nerdlike pioneer.

I just want to thank everyone who responded.

The conclusion to this question it seems is that the brotherhood of the witnesses is NOT greater than the "world" offers in other churches as well as "worldly" friendships.......at least based on all the comments here.
