I would have to say to this person that she would have to believe that ALL other stories that have come forth in which justice was not served such as in her case.....are ALL lies.
I would tell her of the "two witnesess or more" policy.
I would tell her that parents are not at liberty to pursue a molester of their child, once the molester denies it and the elders have dismissed it, or judicial action will be taken.

Ok AChristian....I'll take it for a bit.
The Jews were stumbled over the Gentiles doing things that they once believed and still believed as wrong....meat sacraficed to idols, eating blood, fornication.
So that these new jewish converts would not be stumbled, the gentiles were told not to do these things if it stumbled others.
Later paul showed these Law's were not binding on christians but to remember not to stumble 'those weak'.

i'm wondering if any of you ex elders ever felt embarrassed or awkward about having to stick your noses into other peoples business did it ever seem like that to you, or were you of the mind that you were a necessary part of the lives of the flock?

As an elder.....you Had to stick your nose in peoples buisness if it involved a Judiciall matter. ( I felt it as a job and it didn't bother me much)
The two extreme cases for me involved Sexual Misconduct.
In both cases we had to find out what the extent was and if it involved 'Pornia'as defined by the society in the Elders Books.
You have to find out what body part was touched,for how long, who initiated it,and many other questions that would be embarassing to anyone.
As I look back I wished someone would have said to me..."How about this brothers....I will talk to Jehovah about the whole matter and let him deal with it since I'm sorry and he is the judge anyways"
I wish I could call all the ones I dealt with and say I'm sorry for having a part in what I did and what they had to go thru in front of a few men.

A christian: You made the quotes below but never addressed the reason WHY paul made the comments he did about abstaining from blood.
What was the PROBLEM that he was addressing?

this is prompted by bethel's rather cryptic decision not to issue 2002 blood cards and dogpatch's release of an exchange of an eye-opening exchange of correspondence, as have been reported here on earlier threads.
as is usually the case, there is more to this blood card thing than what's being said by bethel's spinmeisters for public consumption.
