Idolatry Undone Watchtower Style

in order to cut down on idolotry in the homes of young christians, the governing body recommends taking down any and all photos and posters of singers, actors, and athletes.. however, in order to fill the need to decorate the walls of these young ones and still insprire them to good works, the governing body has authorized the printing of a 3' x 5' lithograph of the governing body in living color.. copies can be ordered at the literature counter after the service meeting for a donation of $25 per litho or 3 for $50.

all proceeds of the sale of these posters will benefit the world wide pedophile defense fund.......

MY PROJECT IS (FINALLY) FINISHED!

for those of you who are interested, the project i've been working on for the last few months is finally finished.

it seems that alot of us still have family members in the religion and have not infrequent arguments with them about some of the beliefs and practices.

Scholarly support for 607bce ?

i mentioned to a bro.

who is supposed to be answering some of my "concerns" with wt teaching that all the non-witness refs.i have seen to the fall of jerusalem place it twenty years later at 587-586 bce.. he maintains that some scholars support 607. does anyone know of a reliable scholar ,who is a recognised expert in this period,who does support 607 ?.

i am well aware that it makes no difference,as the bible nowhere gives us 2520 years,but i am fed up with his assertions and would like to blow this one out of the water so i can ask him to please check his facts.. only help if you really have time ,it's not life or death.. many thanks.

Thanks Besty ,for your idea on the"Challenge", and kindly posting the links, I think this guy will accept and maybe start thinking,I do hope so,he is a really nice guy and great fun,never been a studier though and just spouts the usual Dumbdub answers.(without a knowledge of what he is SUPPOSED to believe !)

Recently,from being a,meeting missing,social member he has got very active and has been appointed as a Mincer.

I gave him some other stuff to think on,but this may be an oblique way of getting under the 'postate radar.

I attended the funeral of an old friend just hours ago,in Church and sang the Hymns, coz I don't give a s**t what any witness may think.

I attended a number when I was active too,and so did others in my congo. but I doubt they sang the hymns!

Help needed, how can i ?

i've not been on for a while as i havent felt the 'need' but ive just logged in and read some very interesting posts as usual.

well i'm off to stay with my very witness parents very soon (for a few days, which is long enough) i do love them but its very hard being around them a lot of the time.

im fully aware that we have to come to our own decisions on the matter of realisation but i was wondering if anyone has any tips as to where i could start in craftily helping them, giving them something to perhaps think about ??

I wish in a kindly way that someone had helped me open my eyes lon g ago. I really would have loved them for it,knowing they cared enough for me to free me from the falsehoods of the WT.

So why not ask for explanations to questions such as "as Paul plainly says Jesus is the Mediator,how can I explain to someone from the Bible that the FDS is ?"

Any "Born Again" Christians here?

I guess I'm on the journey there, I don,t feel yet that I am free enough of the fifty-eight years I have spent in the WT hell.

I feel I need a cleansing period before I really can be born again,but in true faith I do beleive that the Lord Jesus is the only way,and the truth and the life. I also feel,since reading Gods word without watchtower goggles on that He is my brother,the brother and friend I have never had in this life, I FEEL his great love,and yet feel unworthy to receive it fully.

But I pray that soon all creation will praise Him.

What's in a number?

just came across this as i was reading through some thoughts; perhaps it's been shared here, i do not know.

to be truly honest, i developed a headache trying to follow all of it, but perhaps there are those that are more knowledgeable of such things that will have an easier time of understanding it than i. again, i'm not trying to make a point or start an argument; i just found it interesting and thought to share it.

i know that if one looks hard enough at something, he/she can make things appear that aren't really there, but still, something on this scale even makes that explanation hard to justify.
