  you know what's really neat?

  "seeing" people on here transform themselves over the years, healing from misbelief, gaining confidence in themselves, becoming strong enough to face the truth, educating themselves about logic, triumphing over toxic influences in their lives, etc.

  there are some people here who have grown so much.

  Dear Rebel 8,

  I know I have been educated and encouraged and entertained in the short time I have been on here,I think I have matured as a human being because of all the wonderfull people on here.

  Looking back over old posts I see a general maturing and evolving of the site,do you think it is leading somewhere?

  What I mean is could this be the start of something big?

  I know that sounds silly,but so many people pass through here and go out as better people could JWN be a new religion?

  JW's don't know their own faith

  i think this may well have been done to death before,but it still surprised me to find it so close to home.. i t has been pointed out that many jw's can't explain their doctrines,but i never thought that would apply to my sister.she is a super-culty dub,in for over sixty years,and during a somewhat heated conversation at the weekend she kept throwing things at me as "trooves" and i had to keep saying "you need to research that".

  for example i told her that according to the wt jesus was only the mediator for the 144,000. she did not agree that was wt teaching,so i just said the above.. it amazes me that i will have to educate her,ex-pioneer and great door-knocker,as to what she is supposed to believe,before i show her the errors,if we ever get down to a proper discussion.

  i don't really want to though,i think she and her husband need and deserve the borg.. are you surprised at the ignorance of thir own religion by witnessses,despite all those meetings and hours of study?.

  Another group of cliches I like is the "AS welcome as" i.e "a pork pie in a synagogue",it's easy and fun to make up your own.

  I just googled "Cliche Finder" with "as welcome as" and it comes up with "As welcome as a van load of Jehovah's Witnesses" !!!!!!

  I kid you not,try it!

  They don't like easy access to the old B.S**t . It is too easy to see the flip-flops.

  I believe there was a directive to remove older stuff from the K. Hall Libraries as well. This at least shows a measure of embarrasment at the wacky stuff of the past,but what duplicity!

  Apostasy Now

  i have no evidence to back up what i am about to say.

  i have no paperwork, no recordings, no photos, no nothing.

  and yet this nags at me.. i have this sneaky feeling that soon the wbts is going to broaden their view of "apostasy" and begin to include people who don't currently fit into their apostate views.. i have this itch that's telling me that, basically, if you present anything negative concerning the truth, you are at risk of being hauled before an elder body and punished for this somehow (disfellowshipping, reproof?)..

  I too would not be surprised if some sort of harder line was taken soon,they must be aware that many of us who leave take a few more with us within a short time,they might want to plug that hole in the ship A.S.A.P

  Ditto,I have attended fifty-eight " Reject Jesus " meetings I believe,but not this year,or ever again.

  The crap will hit the fan about that though,I have loads of super-culty family who live nearby and they are bound to kick up coz my Wife and I don't go.

  Any ideas on how to put them off the scent?

  I don't think we can afford to go away at that time.

  I wouldn't mind betting that 99% who left over theological matters left because the teaching of the FDS was NOT scriptural !

  When Chas Russell was in charge he used to say "When the money stops coming in we will know that the Lord wants us to stop"

  lets hope they stick to that idea,and then it won't be long before they are gone!
