Could it be that the WT thinks there is little danger of Bethel Boys being drawn to politics by visiting the U.N but that they or the rank and file coming into contact with members of B the G on a regular basis i.e work, may get to hear some truth,esp. about the Troof?
I wonder too if giving you the visit laid the groundwork for excusing the NGO status of the WT by showing the humanitarian works of the U.N,which works the GB would approve of, whilst contributing nothing towards.

when i finally knew that the wts didn't have the truth,i decided to take steps to slow down and become an inactive member.

( i still have my whole family in.......so..... i prefer to remain inactive).

Having removed myself as a Mincer,
(2006)I stopped talks on the School, eventually stopped Field Circus coz "Bile Teach" book taught 1914, I said NOT in the Bible,this was Spring 2007.
Then decided in early 2008 that WTBS, esp. GB, was blasphemously taking the place of Jesus,went to 2008 Memorial and one meeting after,stopped never to go back.
It's good to be free!

How are the Denim Police in your area?

our co will not let the no denim at bethel prohibition die.. in recent visits to nearby congos he has made it very clear that denim is not to be worn at meetings or in field circus.. if any of the "aged women" notice younger women wearing the forbidden fabric, they are to speak with them.

anything like this happen in your area?.

They crack me up the Dubs,I remember in the early sixties I grew my hair "long",by sixties standards,a number of "Servants" and older women had a go at me over several meetings,so I Brylcreamed it like the older brothers used to,the "mature"ones,and combed it in the same style as they wore.
Lots of peole at the Hall congratulated me on getting my hair cut,only to be amazed at the next meeting when,after washing it ,and getting it back into a Beatle style,it was longer than they remembered it! LOL
That didn't go down too well,and I'm sure they were too thick to see the point of the exercise.
In later life, I joined a liberal,almost rebel Congo and grew a beard and REALLY long hair.
In that same Congo the spirit of rebellion still lives on,we had a C.O that we got the word was against denim,about five years ago,so for ALL the meetings one of the respected older sisters, wore a Denim dress, and said let him try and counsel me!
I just loved her for that,he didn't say aword to her though,I think he was forewarned.

Somebody on another thread asked what was the difference between jumped up idiots like that C.O and the Pharasees, I think the Pharasees were just slightly preferable to todays Denim Police.
It's laughable they have major problems with retention and they go and throw away the tiny bit of credibility they had with worrying about the tenth of the Dill.

clyde has heard from two sources that a letter was read at the meeting last week.

after encouragement to trust in jehovah, they suggested that each publisher send about $5.70 to the society each month to help support the organization.

that's the way he heard it.

I am just wondering if the original poster is confused,when I was still going we had a suggested figure per Publisher that was sent to finance the Assemblies etc. Our congo.sent the total as calculated and hoped that contributions covered this.
It's not this arrangement that's being referred to is it? Coz if so it aint nuffink noo.

blessed me when i quit smoking because my asthma went away.".

i just get a chuckle out of the witnesses when they talk about how.

We had two people in our Congo. who after study gave up smoking and they both GOT asthma !! ( both said to me that they were tempted to take up smoking again to seek relief !!!)
How would that sista explain that ???
