OK ...i'm df'd and my husband is a non JW. So we are about to eat dinner and he asks if we should pray...so i'm like "ok go ahead" he's like "no baby you pray" so I jump up from the table to get a paper towel and i put it on top of my head. he's looking at me like "WTF!" he's like "why are you doing that" so I explain it all to him....he didnt really say anything but i think he believes that i'm a can short of a six pack because of my background as a jw.

Sisters with Kleenex on their head
by LearningMore inso, i keep hearing reference to this.
was this just taking place in really small congregations?
i mean, i know the philosophy behind it; my mom would put a hat on to pray in front on my "unbelieving" dad.

"Even if it isn't true" - how many of you heard this one recently?
by hamsterbait ini remember first hearing it after the generation change of 95.. a sister answered up at the wt and said "even if armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live.".
i have heard others say: "even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life.".
my mother said it a few weeks ago!

i actually heard this at a circuit assembly and district assembly it came straight from the platform and everyone clapped in agreement including me. now when I think about it this statement was made quite often in the past few years like after 2000 they started saying this...

it was a very touching experience that i had this last weekend at the atm machine.
it was about half an hour discussion but what follows is the highlights that i remember most vividly.. it begins with a once a upon a time pioneer partner of my wife (h4o) coming in to the atm.. jw says....how are things going?

God mauls little children with bears. (2 Kings 2:23,24)
by easyreader1970 in23. and he proceeded to go up from there to beth el.
as he was going up on the way, there were small boys that came out from the city and began to jeer him and that kept saying to him: "go up, you baldhead!
go up, you baldhead!

mocking and teasing isnt good....everyday this man walked by my yard and teased and mocked by dog...everyday...well one day my dog jumped the fence and went after him. I was looking out the window and ran out just in time, the only real reason why i ran out was to avoid a suit...the man deserved a good bite on the bum. He was old enough to know better than to taunt an innocent animal.

fact or fiction? it doesnt really matter... for me it's a lesson...respect your elders. Just about anything can be debated. we all have a choice...I believe in God and his word the bible... thats my choice.

Once i was invited to a concert by my JW friend. and alot of other jw's were also there....well the concert got a lil lewd (by jw standards) actually it was nothing serious (one of the entertainers cursed). well all of the jw's started walking out. I didnt...for one thing it was really rude for everyone to leave because it was a small concert. Jw have no consideration for the happiness and joy of other people.....even if you are offended by something that doesnt mean that you kill the joy of others for the sake of your selfrighteousness.

Be honest. Would having more money make you happier?
by nicolaou init's not that simple of course but i would certainly appreciate the freedom and time that cash in the bank would give me.

I don't want a whole lotta money like 180 millon (i'll take it) but i don't wish for it.

JW relatives....ughh
by milligal ini'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this (sorry it's kind of long): both my husband and i are df'd.
both our families are active witnesses.
his family has decided to shun us 150% (you know what i mean, no phone calls even when you're dying).

I feel your pain. I am going through the same thing with my JW relative. This person has to make it known that I am to be shunned (accept when this person wants something or needs a shoulder to cry on). I've decided not to answer my phone. The JW world is insane. I think that she can't stand the fact that I'm DF'd and I'm o.k. Yet her life is a complete mess although she's serving the true god. It doesnt add up. I'm not bragging because i have my share of problems but I think she wants me to suffer. I think it bothers JW's when worldly people especially DF'd people don't suffer because they are miserable.

What's Your View Of Jehovah's Witnesses As Individual Persons?
by minimus indo you think they make the best parents?.
the best children?.
the best workers?.

i can only speak for myself and as a JW i was soooo disfunctional. I'm trying really hard to balance my thinking. I never knew how narrow minded and judgemental I was until I started associating with normal people. Now whenever I talk to a JW relative, it's like fingernails on a chalk board.
I think that JW parents stunt the mental growth of their children.
