YOU ARE ME 10 YEARS AGO!!!!! Don't do it. Fall in love with someone ELSE!! He will eventually accuse you of 'strong arming' him into marriage or blackmailing him when it becomes known that he has been seeing you. JW's are taught that marrying an unbeliever is TREACHERY! I know. I bacame a Witness to marry my husband. NOW IT's OVER and he told the brothers that I blackmailed into marrying me or else I would 'tell on him'. Believe me, the Chase is better than the catch. Don't be fooled. You will marry the whole body of elders and they WILL be in your bedroom if you marry him. If you go any further and pressure him more, until he slips up bad and 'does' you, he may just do it a few times and then drop you like a hot potatoe and then go whining to the Elders. But at least he'll get his rocks off. YOU CAN'T WIN!!!

What "dirty deeds" are allowed?
by pad inthe more i read some of the threads in this topic, the more i am becoming convinced that oral sex is viewed alomst worse than premarital sex.
is this true?
what is so horrible about it?

After reading this thread, I'm angrier than in my just previous reply. I was told, and have been reminded many times that oral sex is a definite no-no. And while they are once again obscuring the rules, they will tell you, off the record, that since 'now you know that it is detestable to Jah, you will never want to allow it again.' But I JUST read in the last post that they are not sure because the Bible doesn't dictate specific acts that are unacceptable in a marriage. No wonder my JW husband did it so much. It was always a conscience matter to him. We never found hard and fast (no pun intended) rules in any of the publications. But I was always bothered by it because of the verbal tradition of taboo practices. You like that? "Verbal Tradition"? Official stands are somewhat different from verbal ones. Please comment on this.

I read on that quotes.jw's site that they were not against intimate kissing 'pre-intercourse'. So the distinction between an illegal act and intimate kissing has always been a source of deep confusion and guilt. Guilt? you ask? Why, yes. Since oral sex is just about the only thing that has ever worked for me, becoming a JW meant giving up sexual satisfaction. And forget manual stimulation by partner!! That would be masturbating if you climax. But if you don't clmax, well then, it's just 'touching'. So, who is to determine? I found out when the Elders wanted details in order to decide. Now they can barely look at me. (Besides my sordid sex life I'm a Bombshell, so I've been told.) I get a private chuckle at how I make them blush sometimes. And now that I'm almost 'free', they just don't know what to do with me. And the elders wives.....!!

Always was an interesting topic. Thanks all for the info. Question: Isn't the Crown and Cross a Mason or Freemason symbol? If yes, why is it on the cover of the Watchtower in it's early days?

Collegegirl- Since I've put the skids on attendance ( I let slip that I was so stressed out that I was going to commit suicide), I feel like a huge knot has untied in my belly. I feel so much better about myself. The constant threat of being 'disciplined' was ruining my sanity. I can breath now. I don't even need my therapist anymore! I feel like a whole, intelligent, desirable, good, human being for the first time since growing up. Be strong. Do trust your powers of reason.

Boy, can I relate...
How do you like this scenario.. I've been a somewhat active JW for 10 years. (slowly awakening). It has always galled me that they can shun a person who is in ok standing, not df'd, and who has reached out countless times for help and guidance and even discipline, all the 'right' things one does, only to be 'marked' at gatherings etc., and to watch how this group treats the non-JW husband of a witness woman..!! He has resisted babtism for years but not opposed. There are constant functions at thier house and he is treated like a presiding overseer. He is getting ALL of the social benifits of a babtized brother and respect without ever having to sign up. While someone like me who has always struggled to be accepted is treated like dirt. (Not by all. Some are really nice to me. But they are not the ones in charge.). I'ts just that I'm starting to 'notice' alot of things.

Gee, Collegegirl, I wouldn't be able to put on such a show. I would feel like a double agent hypocrite not just an ordinary hypocrite. Not that I don't sympathize with your situation. I'm still 'in' but I gave up the ministry school a long time ago. Didn't you know that being in the school is not required? You won't be penalized officially for withdrawing. Sure, they'll all ask you and bug you but there are ways around that. Simply refuse to discuss your decision with ANYONE. It's hard at first but there is no way you will make them understand YOUR point of view. Your point of view is wrong if it's not like theirs. So it's useless to discuss it with them unless, of course, you are looking for a reason to stay in. Your friend, gypsy

The Kingdom Ministry and Jehovah's Witnesses
by radar inwhat is the purpose of the kingdom ministry?.
the 1995 october 15th watchtower stated that the parable of the sheep and the goats will be fulfilled some time after the great tribulation.. up till that time jws were led to believe they were engaged in a separating work in fulfilment of that sheep and goats parable.
but from 1995 on, the watchtowers increasing new light shifted the emphasis from a separating to a preparatory work.. this leads to questions : what is the purpose of their kingdom ministry and in what way does it prepare people?.

Excellent rhetoric. Things are moving so fast, I can hardly digest any thing. I've often wondered the exact same questions. And I thought I was pretty smart. Now I'm sad.
