I just can't get over the extremes of the mind games here. Paradise one week--nazi torture the next week. This is just too much for me to comprehend. How in the hell did you ever have any peace or joy in between?
i remember always hearing the same answer, "the paradise is coming, focus on the good things to come"
But then I remember hearing someone talk about rats eating people while they slept and the whole paradise thing went out the window.
Man, this really was / is a mind blowing religion.

Unexpected JW reaction
by cameo-d ini talked to a jw i know and got an unexpected reaction.. i mentioned some of the "conspiracy theory" stuff i have heard...about one taken, one left behind ...and what i have heard about people will be picked up in the middle of the night and taken away to "places".
this jw took it right in stride and said "yes, that's the way it was done when the nazi's started.
many jws were killed then...blah blah".

How does Jehovah Kill Us Off?
by cameo-d ini figure a lot of people have had their heads stuck in the cloud with images of their paradise---big homes, fancy cars, and all the jewelry left behind by those rich ole wicked people..... but what about the other side of all this?
have you wondered how jehovahjireh jihad kills us all off?
it's time to think about that now.

The Sheer Boring Monotony Of Being A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhat a terrible way of wasting valuable time.
going to meetings is the biggest scam.
you get nothing more from going than you would if you read a publication in the comfort of your home.

thank you for all the comments, i really appreciate them.
Sorry if i sound like I expect some sympathy, that was not my point.
Just how people we knew for years in this organization can turn a blind eye to the whole situation,
it was a real shakeup for me -

Last week my mother died, and since my parents live clear across the country, I had to travel out there and help
my father with the arraignments.
They were active, visible witnesses here at home here in Wisconsin for over 15 years.
I have not attended a meeting for four months now, I have been working on fading away.
Yet my father placed a death notice in the local paper here, because many of their witness friends live here.
Well, it has been a week and only One person has made an effort to call me and let me know how sorry they were.
And yet I wonder,,,, where are all these people that were their so called "friends".
Is this a tactic of the witnesses, that I have to go to the hall in order for anyone to even say something?
I am really beginning to feel that these people are pretty phoney with human emotions, i have to go along with the WT facade
in order for people to somehow act real.?!
Oh and by the way, i was quite active in the hall all these years, I just recently began dropping away because of the hypocrisies I was seeing.
Funny, I thought that certain people were my friends during these years, what a wakeup call this has been to me to hasten my fade.
I keep thinking of that scripture that states " by their fruits will you recognize these men." -

How Were "Sisters" Treated In Your Hall?
by minimus inin my hall, there were a number of females who were more qualified to run a hall than were some of the elders.
certain elders expressed their intimidation of these females by picking on them, to correct them, if they possibly could.
as long as a "sister" was "submissive", she was wonderful!

I was in a congregation where a sister moderated a book study, was the "accounts servant, magazine servant, literature servant." A real lack of brothers I have seen sisters in some congregations as an individual read the paragraphs at a book study without being required to wear a head covering. In one congregation, a sister audited the congregation accounts. In one a sister did accounts but had to hide it by having her husband sign it and announce it. In one the BOE wanted sisters to do the mikes but the CO forbade it and ordered the elders to do it. In one a sister also did sound, accounts, magazine/literature/territory because there was only one elder and no qualified baptized brothers. No way could he do everything Wow Blondie, are you talking about Lincoln Illinois back in the late 70's / early 80's ? This is almost exactly what was going on at this hall. Don karto was the head elder, and he did not want to use ANY of the younger guys. One year the CO came in and really put him in his place, I heard that he left shortly afterwards.

live with jehovahs day in mind and children
by lancelink ini was looking over this book today, and ran into an interesting situation.
on this site, and in the news, the comment has been made quite often regarding how children seem to be leaving the organization in droves.
but this book keeps hitting on how adults and kids should put god and his service first, yet their is an undercurrent of desperation .

On this site, and in the news, the comment has been made quite often regarding how children seem to be leaving the organization in droves.
But this book keeps hitting on how adults and kids should put God and his service first, yet their is an undercurrent of desperation
in the wording at times.
On page 83 paragraph 3 the comment is brought up as to how people will disregard gods standards for living, yet accept standards set by men.
The example used is water quality, how important clean water is to your having good health, if the quality is bad, diarrhea and other
problems can occur. And CHILDREN are especially affected !
The statement " if there were no standards we would soon notice" is made regarding water quality.
Well,, if JW's are so "righteous and pure" why are kids leaving at an alarming rate ?
if there were no standards we would soon notice seems to really reflect on the organization and the example kids are expected to follow
in their lives.
Something must be wrong with the way standards are being taught, and the examples being set in the JW religion, it seem that there is
a massive influx of JW diarrhea with all the young ones leaving. -

kind of a weird evening.
I work at a local school, and am getting prepared for the new semester.
This means that there has been much working late, so this evening I get home around 7:30pm and there
is a Mormon elder, along with his wife sitting in my living room when I get home talking to my wife !
Suddenly they 'have to get going" (yea, right) and take off.
This is starting to get a somewhat JW "creepy feeling" to me.
I mean they come over and talk when I'm not around.
Basically I'm totally exhausted dealing with this situation, the JW elders seem to have just added
fuel to the fire with their unspecific support.
Oh I did not mention that my wife met with several elders once, spoke for two hours and nothing was done.
later, (about 1 year later) I told her to speak to her PO about what has been going on. Three hours discussion with him in a local park, and nothing wrong with her attitude,?!
After reading all the suggestions given me here, I believe that a "hard nose" attitude is what I'm going to follow. After being a JW for years, and going along with their version of getting disciples I can really see what is going on here, kind of like looking from the inside-out.
We knew a really neat couple in a neighboring congregation what were divorced about three years ago, problems between them just increased so he left and they agreed to a divorce. My wife could not understand how this lady would sacrifice her marriage in order to remain completely faithful to a "man made" organization(JW) with the support of her large family who are ALL hard line witnesses.
Yet now my wife is putting most of her free time, energy, and support to the Mormons,an extraordinarily man made religion
if there ever was one !
So, I'm going to draw the similarity between her actions, and the sister who she routinely criticized,
religion #1, marriage#2 and if she becomes a Mormon, I'm leaving. I'm not going thru that religious crap all over again.
And another point that I'm going to ask the mormons the next time they invite me to sit and talk with them,
in Genesis, the devil told Eve that if she ate the fruit, she would become like god, yet the mormons believe that they will BECOME a god
after they die. So if they believe and follow the Bible, how can this be explained in a positive, spiritual way. -

Name Things That Are Uniquely "Special" To Jehovah's Witnesses
by minimus injws have certain must haves.
for example a jw needs his or her own "bookbag".
an elder needs an "elder case", something very big, because after all, he's an elder!

A leather bound NWT Bible, along with a reasoning book attached in the back.
Hopefully bound by a witness working pt to pay for their ministry !
