I wonder how many people will now use the "mold" excuse and not attend the meetings.

A Dating Site For Jehovah's Witnesses?!
by Blue Grass ini discovered a site called www.jwmatch.com which have pictures of individuals claiming to be jws looking for others jws to date.
based on the watchtower's anti internet stance and meeting people online, i doubt this website is real.
has anyone else seen this site?

Oh my God !
Just for fun I ent.ered my old hall Crystal Lake Illinois and there is a 20-something girl that has a VERY weird life.
When I attended a long time ago, she was an only child who was spoiled beyond belief.
She also had every imaginable ailment that she could think of.
Well, right after I left she ran away from her family, became homeless in downtown chicago, got pregnant and her parents found her on the street
downtown.
They credited finding her to "jehovahs help", they also posted flyers in the CL trainstation stating that the girl was "disillusioned" and needed help.
She did need help but the JW's were not the ones to give it to her.
Anyway she was df'ed, married the teenage homeless guy, they moved in with her parents, and had the baby.
Now it looks like the guy bailed on her, left the kid with her also.
And now the kicker,,,
her profile states that she is healthy and mentally balanced.
From what I know, she is probably one of the most dysfunctional women ever !
Its uncomfortable to see what a wholesome / honest appearance she is trying to pass off. All those years as a JW must really have made an impression on her !
And her crazy parents,, they are no doubt filled with pride because she choose the truth over everything else.
Since her account has been frozen, they must be watching her every move, way to go when trying to raise a responsible adult.

Anyone Going to Church Yet?
by prophecor ini've started attending church, recently.
it feels great to be able to worship with vigor and feeling.
still have the occasional trappings of having been a witness and guilt about goung to satan's house.

yes,
our local Catholic church is open all Saturday night for prayer.
I go almost every week and just sit there and think about where Iam, what I have given up, and what I have lost.
It may not sound very spiritual or uplifting, but it really affects me and makes me feel a peace that I never felt at the KH.

Witnesses Who Were Hypocrites!
by minimus insome jws truly believe and live their faith.
but many witnesses lived double lives or spoke one way in front of the congregation but privately, they were just the opposite.. i knew an elder and his wife who owned a liquor/convenience store.
they sold tobacco and lottery tickets but claimed that the real owner of the business was the wife's "worldly" father, which was hogwash.. were there any real hypocrites that you knew about?.

The League of Apostate Pioneers
by Megachusen inrecently it's come to my attention that the other teens in my congragation are being pressured by their parents to pioneer.
the main problem is that, like me, they're all "apostates".
because of this amusing turn of events, i'm thinking about starting my own apostate pioneering group with them.

I forgot to mention that when he threw up this night, he told me that he was laying on his back, so he could have drowned in his own puke.
Dad saw this and ignored it, his position was more important than his son's health.
I heard this story from two of the brothers who talked about it for months afterward as if it was a badge of honor,, sick.
They would also buy and sell pot in their garage, but that is another long story for another time.
And they were quite vocal about how bad they were, yet if daddy or another member of the hall approached them, they were grown up
WT, JW angels.

Maybe you and your little friends sit around by yourselves and bitch about having to go to meetings and service, but if you're "actively speaking against WT teachings" outside your circle of "apostate" friends, it'll be like daniel-p said...you won't be doing it for long
AMEN !
It sounds like they are speaking out of both sides of their mouths,
The WT is bad and so are we heh, heh, heh !!
Suddenly an elder appears and they are ramrod straight / loyal to the core witnesses .
I'm very well familiar with this mindset because there was a group of people at my hall back in the 70's (including myself)
who thought the same way.
"Mess up once and your heads will roll, unless one of your parents is someone of importance in the hall", I seem to remember that "Elder daddy"
would bend over backwards to protect his position no matter what.
A true story::: In 1978 this so called friend and PO's son was drinking at age 19 quite a bit. he came home one night after work(he was a mechanic at a local gas station) very sloshed. As he walked into the house PO dad and pioneer mom were having a dinner party with several couples from the hall. He walked in went to his room, shut the door, and threw up . The whole group outside just ignored it and later when everyone had left PO dad went into the room and smacked his kid around telling him to quit drinking.
No help, no "kind and gentle words" just a get yourself straightened out before someone says something" attitude. He kept on drinking ALOT after that and daddy just kept on covering up for him!
He is now divoriced and out of the religion, and his other two brothers are equally if not more messed up with their lives.
Thanks Randy, Kevin, and Tim, from Crystal lake Illinois you all planted a seed in my conscience regarding the JW religion that did not start growing until 25 years later !

Did people DONATE for the literature when you went out in service?
by BonaFide ini think i got a donation maybe once or twice here in the states.
most of the friends don't ask for a donation.
in south america, more people donated, but i think it's because it was phrased differently, we used to say, "you can give whatever you want for this magazine.

when my youngest son was about 6 years old he had an inflatable balloon type hammer, (it was about 3 feet long).
And on mornings when he did not want to get up for either school or service I would get this thing and hit him with it, he really disliked it
but it was very efficient in getting him out of bed.
Well, one time the CO was talking to us after the service meeting and he asked my son if he would be out in service Saturday morning.
Jeff turns to him and said " yea, but I hope that my dad doesn't hit me with the hammer in the morning.
Mortified looks all around until I explained the whole situation, and that I was NOT a child abuser !!!!
