Around three years ago my wife started to invite the Mormon missionaries in, and have discussions with them.
This went on for several months, then the get together s started to be 2-3 times a week. I would work late because i wanted
no part of it. (you see I was seriously starting my fade, and i didn't want to get involved with anything else.
Well she really was starting to progress with their studies, and since she seemed to be a true JW, I told her that she was sailing in uncharted waters, and she might want to watch herself.
For the next 2 years they came on a regular schedule, and surprisingly I found myself defending the witnesses, trying to remember points and topics that would prove that the mormon beliefs were false.
( talk about walking a thin tightrope here.)
So I literally told her that she had better speak to the elders in her hall, and that i would agree
to go along with whatever suggestions that the elders gave her. I figured that they would come down pretty hard on her.
She spent over three hours speaking to them, and they decided that she was doing nothing wrong !
They said that it must be an encouragement for her to study with the young people, but that she should watch herself closely so that she did not become an apostate/!.
Now she is seriously tossing the idea around of actually becoming a Mormon! She would just DA herself.
Personally, I have learned during this time how religions like the Mormons and JW's operate, and it is not all sunshine and roses.
I really am tired, and fed up speaking EVERY night for over two years about religion and beliefs,
just worn out regarding this subject :(
Does anyone have a personal experience, or some nugget of research that might help me out here ?
I would really appreciate it.
Sorry if this is somewhat choppy, she is sitting right across the room from me right now. -

Small joys
by heybaby inyou know how there are somethings that give you so much pleasure or joy?
it doesn't have to be anything amazing or huge, but for some reason it makes you so happy for those few moments.
some of mine are drinking coffee in the morning with my best friend at work, and the smell of an open fire (it reminds me of being a young child at my grandparents' house).

I have a birdfeeder mainly used for goldfinches, and there are many doves coming around trying to eat something.
The openings are small slits, so I cut several of them off, and installed little trays so the doves can get something.
Now i get to see the doves and goldfinches eat together, really a neat site -

During the pasr 5 months I have been attending seminars for work, and going to different churches to see
what is out there. And there is one thing that stands out.
The microphones used at the kingdom halls.
Every place I have gone to and listened to speeches, or sermons, they all use a microphone and cord attached to the podium
( about 1 foot in length)
When the speaker gets up, he adjusts it in about 1 second, and goes on with his-her speech, they can adjust it slightly during the
talk if needed.
At the KH,CA, and DA it seems that they always use the long shiny metal stands, and a person has to adjust the microphone each time
someone get up on stage. This may sound like a nitpicking thing, but I've always wondered about this.
why does the society always use this type of microphone?
Any communication installers care to make a comment ? -

than her friend.
She might now be posting on this site ! -

james_woods states : "Then it all blew over, and we started the next 50 years of our lives without a peep from their war-god."
I would find it just fascinating to hear your story about that time, I was not a witness, and I was too young to really care about
what was happening.
No witness I know has ever mentioned to me aspects of time during the Kennedy assassination, I find all the opinions amazing.
Just what was it like being a witness during that time, besides the stuff you have already mentioned ? -
