i've had something on my mind for a while.. the local county paper, (30000 copies/week) goes in all mail boxes on thursdays for free.. in it, every week people anonymously petitions or thank st.jude or other saints, you know what i'm talking about (i hope).. just to mess with the local boe,i was thinking of sneaking a little ad in between those i was referring to.. something like: .

"make sure of all things.. " 1 th 5:21. freeminds.org.

would i need permission from randy or others?.

The people that run the novena and St.Jude ads are usually Catholic. The one you want to run would be fine without worrying about any legal issues. Just have your checkbook or credit card ready when you place the order.

Just finished our District Convention

i know i am going to get caught being on here...and i don't want to get caught, but i need support or i will lose my mind.

how can i give information about my convention without someone figuring out who i am?

(i am not important i know that, but i know so many people in the organization) .

I don't mean to insult your family or friends, but when they said "and the best place to die is the assembly." did you keep a straight face when they said that or did you laugh? Any time I see or hear someone hitting a child I say, "IT IS NEVER CORRECT TO HIT A CHILD. NEVER. IF YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO FIND A BETTER WAY TO DEAL WITH A CHILD'S ACTIONS, THEN YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE A PARENT. and then I usually punch the stupid f...cking parent in the face and say "HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?" Maybe I should go to one of these conventions so I can scope out the child abusers and give a good beat down to the dumb parents dishing it out.

hey folks,.

just curious what your take would be on this.. i have a witness friend, who happens to be a radio announcer (dj) on a rock station ( yes i know, that is weird in and of itself).

anyway, he wants to leave the "truth" but family keeps him in.

Tell your friend he should be prepared to say goodbye to two women. The one he's married to and the sister that's chasing him. Once he leaves his wife, the chase, excitement and drama will be gone for the sister and she will not think he's as exciting or dangerous. She'll leave him and he'll be alone. How do I know? It happened to me.

Assembly Hall shakedown - Columbia SC

there was a big elders meeting in columbia sc on saturday june 9.. around 240 congregations, 2000+ elders.. the society wants to build a brand new assembly hall in columbia, sc, to handle the huge influx of jws moving to the us southeast from up north.. they expect to have it done in 34 months (finished by april 2010).

total cost estimated to be approximately $8 - 9 million.. they want to have the whole thing paid for by the time the building is done - no long term loans.. they "strongly suggested" that each of the 240 congregations commit to supporting "their share" of the expense.

How can the WBTS blatantly and arrogantly insult their members like that and expect them to continue to do their bidding? Also, if the end is so near, then why wouldn't they just take out long term loans? They must know that they'd never have to pay them off.

I got a chill down my spine when I read this. I thought it was my friend that got killed. She has told me for the over a year that her husband is a psychopath and has abused her for most of their marriage. He has told her stories about how women go missing and die all the time. They are both Jehovah Witnesses in their late 30's. She tried to leave him but he told her he would kidnap their child and leave town with him if she left him. If anything ever happened to her I will go to the police and tell them all about him and his behavior. I know if anything ever happened to her, it would be because of him.

Dating a JW and need some help

i've been 'going out' with a beautiful girl and we have a great time together.

we have a lot of similar interests and always have stuff to talk/do.

the problem is that she's a jw, and i know there is no way i'm going to become a jw.

If you love her and want to be with her, then tell her.
If you are not sure about your intentions, then you would be doing her a favor by leaving her alone. If you intend on marrying her, taking care of her or sharing your life with her, then you have to tell her you will be there for her.
If she leaves her religion, then her family, friends and everything she knows will turn their backs on her. She will need you more than ever, because her entire JW world will come to a halt. They will shun her and she will need a lot of love to get through that trauma.
I know from my experience which is very similar to yours.
I didn't convey my feelings enough to the woman I was involved with and it pushed her away and created a gap between us that couldn't be repaired. At the time, I didn't realize how different she was from any other woman I had been involved with. The difference centered around her religious beliefs. Looking back I remember how she told me a couple of times that if she decided to be with me it would be "a decision that would shake the foundation of her existence" At the time, I didn't realize how much weight those words carried and how serious it was for her.
I wish you the best. Everyone deserves love. I hope you find yours.

Do you suppose there would be mass suicides from devout JWs who can't function without the Watchtower controlling them?I hope that nothing like that ever happens. I know a couple of people who are caught up in this cult and I would be devastated if they killed themselves. I don't know what is worse, standing by and watching someone destroy themselves or watching an organization destroy them. The whole experience of crossing paths with, meeting, and getting to know these people has saddened me greatly.
