I have to agree with you. I have sent a couple of people with doubts to this board and they shot straight back to the Hall and as far as I know are still there.
The thing is that they were not yet at a point where they could seperate the rubbish from the "real" stuff, it was too soon for them to be here. Timing is the important thing, if you get that right some of the information on this board can be of real practical help.

get special revelations from god today.".
if they answer "yes," then they are going against the bible which says that all scripture is complete.. if the say "no," then we can say, "then why do you say we should follow you.".

I assume that by "new teaching" you mean revised thinking or understanding, as this is what the topic is about.
For the uneducated, like myself, can you please give examples from the Bible where God gave revised teaching or thinking to the apostles and others throughout the Bible?

Hi gaigirl,
I know absolutely nothing about the subject but I was told that the Big Bang theory is under review.
It appears that some of the evidence for the Big Bang was based on the fact that bodies made up of material of a higher atomic weight were found to be nearer the sun and those of lower weight furthest away.
From the limited research that it has been possible to do into other solar systems, this does not appear to be the case with them.
I am told that as a consequence of this the Big Bang theory is being looked at again.

When I was a study I did not know any "JW speak" and we were doing hall cleaning duties.
The brother in charge said to another brother "Brother John, you wil have the privilage of cleaning the toilets"
Of course, I thought that this was a JW joke, I didn't know he was serious and laughed out loud. Everyone turned and stared at me whilst I waited for the floor to open and swallow me up.

Nathan, I have a copy of the April 15 1904 Zion's Watch Tower in which it goes into great detail about how the FDS is a person and not a class. I also have the info from 1927 where the FDS is "reaffirmed" as a class and not a group. I also have the last three issues of the Watchtower CD Roms.
I am trying to determine if, at the time the Society "discovered" that they were the FDS, they believed that the FDS was a class or a person. In order to do this I really need to find out when they first claimed to be the FDS. I have tried searching the CD Rom but the task seems to be beyond me. I can't find the start date.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

Many thanks to all who responded to my question.
I had been trying to work out this FDS doctrine as all the old literature, Zion's Watch Tower etc, from around 1919 refer to the FDS as being a person not a group of people.
At some point there must have been a big change in thinking to the present situation that "the FDS is a group of people and we are it!" and I wondered when that happened.
It seems that even from their early days they saw themselves as God's representatives on earth. Perhaps it was in 1927, when they decided (once again) that the FDS was a group that they also decided that they were IT officially.
Like most things Watch Tower it does not seem to make sense or seem to have any logical sequence to the events.
