can anyone point me towards wt quotes about the situation if a member of the immediate family who still lives at home is dfd?
i seem to recall a recent one where it stated that "normal family ties could continue, as long as spiritual matters were not discussed... the remaining members of the family would hold their bible study without the disfellowshipped one present.
" i would like a few different wt articles if possible.. it may come to this sometime next year.. i know i should do my own homework but i hate having to wade through long boring wt filth just to find the paragraph i'm looking for..
I guess I will answer some of the personal questions that have been fielded.
My dad is an MS, being an elder would be "too much work" and he doesn't want to be promoted, but he is happy being an MS. Mom is chronically ill and does not piosneer.
I am currently attending college, I will be finished January 2010.
The reason I said that "the cards are in my hand" is becuase I do most of the work around the house (with my mom being chronically ill) and if they were to kick me out, they would most likely also have to move. My dad has no interest in moving. Therefore I think it is unlikely they would kick me out. Furthermore the extended family are NOT dubs and what kind of a "good witness" (hate that term ) would it give to them if I got kicked out of my house for simply disagreeing with the teachings of men?
So I'm weighing my options and seeing if I can't have my cake and eat it too - live at home while "unofficially DA'd" or DF'd, if the elders see fit to do so.
As further background I am in extremely good standing in the cong, the elders are always trying to give me "more privileges" which are the last thing I want! Not sure if that would influence their reaction towards me.

from the onset when i was asked to turn in my field service report to show how many hours i was talking about the wt about so called truths, i knew this it was all bull crap what a farce.
i am so sure christ asked his disciples to write down their hours and hand them in to him i would think he has the capacity read their hearts and know if they are wholed hearted and if the have gave any writen truths to others in their service to jehovah.
but no, we got these fools who successfully got thousands of people to hand in the little time slip so the factory can boast to the rank and file and say look how wonderfull we the gb are see how we are being used by christ in the time of the end, and you the rank and file are for spending your own money and time for all these magazines and crap.
I would, toward the end, skip a couple of months of reporting and then turn in two or three slips for different months at the same time. That way, they would have to waste more time hunting for a slip (that isn't there) only to have it turn up a couple of months later.

As I said, if it agrees with their doctrine, it's the incontrovertible Word of Most High God. If it doesn't agree with them, they brush it under the rug as "symbolic language".

Thanks Anarchist. No, I would rather just give them a letter, go out for a walk, give them an hour or two to think about it, and then come back and field all questions. I don't want anything to do with the elders. The more I can keep them out of it the better.
