No freakin way! Count me in! The whole reason I still go to meetings is for the brothers that I play fantasy football with! I mean besides the fact that my wife wants me to go. I have to warn you though- I've won my share of league championships!

The Dark Knight
by XJW4EVR inthere may be spoilers on this thread, so if you haven't seen it yet, don't read any further.. first, i enjoyed the movie.
i think that the reboot of batman was the best thing that could have been done to the franchise.
i love the fact that the last two films are dark, and that the batman literally skates the thin line between justice and criminality.

The Governing Body is stealing Ray Franz's ideas
by JimmyPage inon page 267 of "crisis of conscience" ray franz made the observation that the '95 new light on "generation" came shortly after he described what the governing body needed to make the doctrine continue to work.
my copy of his book came out before this year's "new light" on "the generation".
however, on page 265 of ray's book another possible "out" for the society is given.

I swear those old guys in Brooklyn make me madder every day!

Finally putting the new light all together
by JimmyPage inokay maybe i'm a little slow but i'm finally beginning to understand how all the "new light" is tied together.
this has all been prompted for me by my reading of the 1914 chapter in "crisis of conscience".
see, the door to heaven which was previously closed in 1935 has been reopened.

See, the door to heaven which was previously closed in 1935 has been reopened. And the new meaning of "generation" applies to these anointed ones. So as long as more people can go to heaven then the generation can keep going indefinitely and the year 1914 doesn't have to be discarded.
Am I correct on all this? And if it's taken an independent thinker awhile to put this together, will any of the rank and file ever realize what's going on?

Tim Curry.... Greatest Actor?
by Preston ini've seen thousands of movies and occasionally get into discussions with other movies fans regarding the best performance / film score / film in a certain year / etc..... i've had disagreements with people as to the acting quality of marlon brando, james stewart, jimmy cagney, bette davis but.... the one actor that i've never experienced any disagreements on is (inexplicably) tim curry, who i've been a big fan of since 'clue' and i'm almost convinced that there is not a single purveyor of film that doesn't like his acting, but i'd like to do an experiment on here to see if anyone does.. does everyone really like tim curry?.

Johnny Depp is the world's greatest actor. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is not far behind.

suicide and explosion at Kingdom Hall on Sat. July 27
by kool aid man06 ina bizarre explosion at a church east of kansas city killed one man on saturday afternoon.
atf agents said the explosion at the jehovah's witness' kingdom hall on foggy bottom drive was intentionally set, and that the person who died appears to have committed suicide.
witnesses described large amounts of smoke pouring out of the building, which they said was just recently completed.

The latest story I've heard (who knows how much is true, sometimes this particular source I talk to is unreliable):
A group was cleaning the hall. The brother in question was using the internet (the Hall had internet?) and said he'd lock up when he left (was there an alarm to set? Did he know the code?) ((1914, probably LOL)). Apparently the hall has dial-up (again, the Hall had internet?) and the man had high-speed service at home but no one thought anything of it. The man was not acting unusual.
It was also thought that he shot himself in addition to accelerating the destruction of the Hall, as has been mentioned here.
I asked, "Wasn't he an elder?" Reply: "He used to be but because of his mental problems he no longer was."
I asked, "Do they know why he did what he did to the Hall?" Reply: "No, but apparently he didn't want the Hall to have ever been built."
I asked, "Why not?" Reply: "I don't know." (Witnesses typically don't ask important questions do they?) ((See "chronology, 607 vs. 587 BCE"))
The person I talked to said thankfully the story about the Universalist Unitarian Church shooting bumped this story off the national news.
Everyone was told not to tell the press anything because the Society had a person handling that.
The main thing still being that the Hall be rebuilt in time for its dedication.

I believe there is a Bible verse that says the reason women's feet are so small is so they can get closer to the sink to wash them dishes.
