Well...I did my "apostately" duties and called in and I got thru!!! Boy...was I ever nervous...and I would have liked to say a whole lot more! I'll tell you...when she prayed with me I was in tears! And this from someone who was so pulverized by the witnesses that sometimes I think I'm an atheist but still desperately want to believe. Great program and I'm glad I got to say something. Now I'll be bouncing off the walls all day thinking about what JW's do to innocent people. SHUNNING should not be in anyone's vocabulary. Cathy L.

it was during the drought when alberta and sask were in bad shape for hay.my husband was promised 100 bales (this was before the drought).when my husband was ready for the hay the elder said he couldnt have any ,in the field there were trucks picking up hay which he sold for double the price.so here we were with no promised hay to feed 32 horses.does anyone else have a story?
Ahhhhhh...I love these venting threads! So many mean things...so little time to tell about them all.
When my husband had to step down from being a MS because he needed to take care of me while I was seriously ill...they announced that he had been "removed". Now you might not think this is much to complain about...but he was the Accounts servant at that time and some people in the congregation thought he had been removed because of monkey-business with the accounts. Arghhhhhhhh...that really hurt my husband.
Then they "marked" my son for marrying an unbaptized publisher who had been "in da troof" all her life (and was preparing for baptism)...but they didn't even give him any warnings and marked him (in two congregations) the week before the wedding. Thus they encouraged a boycott of the wedding...which really hurt. They also boycotted the kid's wedding shower without telling us. No one showed up. The elders had forbidden any of their wives or the MS wives to attend so everyone else followed suit.
But...like Lady Lee said...If they hadn't been so mean we might have still been imprisoned in their cult. But it still hurts to this day .

You know Blondie...I keep one of those airline barfbags attached to my computer for your scathing watchtower reviews. I just can't believe I actually fell for this crap for so many years! What particularly upsets me in this article is that they again make it seem like the JW's are the only people in the whole wide world who are polite, thankful, courteous, loving and spiritually superior. Since leaving I have found quite the opposite to be true. The "worldly" people I meet and have come to know since leaving the organization display these qualities to a greater degree than many of the JW's that I have known over 40 years. And how does the writer of this article know that in every single congregation in the world these qualities are displayed by every single person who attends those congregations? The writer probably has been cacooned (is that a word?) at Bethel for most of his life and doesn't know a hell (oops, sorry) of a lot about the REAL way congregations operate. From my vast experience at many KH's...the people there are: Crude, arrogant, unloving, backbiters, spiteful, jealous, slanderous, gossip mongers and could care less (especially the elders) about people who are ill or suffering in the congregation.
This article is such a load of crap and SO sugarcoated. AND unbelievable. Do More...Give More...Do More...Give More...no wonder so many JW's are on the brink of nervous breakdowns! (Or have already had one.)

why the hell can't jws date w/o having a chapperone or anything of that matter?
i have always thought that its stupid and its trying to pry into peoples lives.
but i just wanna know why.
To prevent them from doing the "nasty". But most kids find the ways and means to avoid the dreaded chaperone . Thus...in our congregation there have been many disfellowshippings and public reproofs for fornication. Go figure .
who or what is your all time favorite singer or band?
even if you never saw them, if you could---you'd spend big bucks to see them.
