Why do we get stumbled out of JW's because of imperfect people?

i see this a lot on this forum, loads of people saying they left jw's because of "hypocritical ....... ( put elder, pioneer, couple, sister, brother, governing body) here.. but?.

why would you expect any man-run organisation if you believe the bible, to have to be perfect and not be full of imperfect people that will come across as hypocritical?.

the bible examples from israelites onwards name anyone :- moses, king david, pharasees, paul the one thing the bible doesn't do is white-wash them it shows that however much we follow the laws we are always fighting our own imperfection usually failing every time and needing to be corrected sometimes punished (moses had to give-up chance of seeing the foretold land), so why do we hold this against jw's as a reasons not to be a jw's anymore?.

It was a rhetorical we not meaning anyone in particular.

If you look at my post above this thread was inspired by having read a lot of other posts on here talking on the hypocracy they found in JW's and it confused me because nothing they mentioned couldn't also be found in any other organisations for example....cliques, power hungry, exploiters, greedy, selfish, pleasure in others suffering, abusers of power etc which is a human nature thing rather something to hold against the JW's but as I mention above most of those that have replied say I am mistaken and in the end it was mainly the teachings that made them leave which i accept and stand corrected.

Witness ENJOY Being "Persecuted"!

that's the conclusion i've reached.

i see persons who love being martyrs by going to the kingdom hall and not being able to literally breathe because they are allergic to perfumes and colognes, and they cough, their eyes water and they actually cry that no one cares about their plight-----but they still go and are "faithful" meeting attenders yet bitch and moan to anyone that will hear them.. then you get those that are handicapped and it's a huge deal to get into a car to go out in service and they cry that nobody really cares about them.. when an elder doesn't pick a person to comment, that martyr will dutifully go to the meetings, say the conductor doesn't like him/her and pray to jehovah for the strength to endure.. i swar, jws love feeling persecuted!.

I think some of what is said on here can just be put down to age, I remember my grandmother being like it and now my none-witness mum has hit 60 it was like suddenly overnight she became a life-complainer, I know all her illnesses intimately now and how much she visits sick friends and how hard it is to do that etc etc I love my kind and caring mum to bits but sometimes i feel like saying "lighten up please" but i know she can't because have experienced a lot of older people finding some kind of succease from expounding hardships and almost reveling in their suffering, I might write a note to myself when I turn 60 and tell myself not to get like this lol.

as you can see, only turkey has a lower acceptance than the us.

I agree with above poster whatever people are taught as children they tend to believe a takes a lot for someone to turn from childhood teachings whatever they are, now that schools mostly teach evolution as fact then I can easily see a time when the graph is all blue, this is a very interesting graph thankyou poster :)

Thankyou for your replies guys you cleared up some thoughts i've had from this forum especially as what one poster says is right, if I just read the general posts then it's easy to start thinking people left because of the hypocracy and imperfections of other people but as most that have posted on here have said it was the imperfect teachings that made them leave not the people.

I am wondering now whether to start a thread on the teachings but not sure i want to open that bag of worms lol

I would take issue with the one who said cold war is a dead duck as we in Britain just had our representatives kicked out of Russia and now the "cold war" between England and Russia is as bad as it ever was.

To be honest the only thing that would really get me worried about prophecy getting a bit near the bone, is if American did goto war with Iran another bible-land like Iraq Oooo

If the mistakes and shennaigans of the JW's can be excused on the basis of human imperfections why couldn't other religions be accorded a similar level of mercy?

I guess a big part of me is saying this would just be too easy an option, not just invalidating the witnesses but the majority of the bible from Adam onwards, jesus still made a point of backing up the law in our everyday practises, in a way if feels like a mockery of all the teachings of jesus and NT by us saying that belief in God is enough but on the other hand maybe he realised how difficult it would be for us to be devout in the way disciples were in that first century?

That still leaves the question on how God will judge christianity at the time of judgement when there is so much variety and denominations?

I can't talk on the faithful and discreet slave stuff, I've been away from Jw's to long to be accurate on it, you guys will know more on it than myself.

Yes i did AK - jeff and replied about it in an earlier post, I did feel he was splitting hairs by saying a nation isn't an organisation, once the gates got opened so gentiles could join calling them a nation no longer becomes an option.

To be honest this is were I fall flat a bit as i haven't read NT recently and at this point would want to explore the whole acts romans etc paul setting up congregations and sending letters etc to see what i feel he was trying to achieve and does it translate into being a religious organisation,

you make a fair point ip_sec but after JW's what then? what is a viable alternative? This has proved a stumbling point for me and why with imperfection the issue in the organisation or the individual, i just can't use it as a reason not to be a JW.

Jw's are harsh strict, in these stakes i suppose people are telling me JW's are the worst and what they ask of us is just to much?

You cant disagree with perfection. Its perfect!!! You'll never catch me disagreeing 2+2=4. But I cant disagree with an imperfect organization without losing everyone I know? Well thats just the most preposterous thing I've ever heard. Sounds like some kind of control tactic to me. What say you reniaa?

Is one of their imperfections controlling people? I'm still thinking on that since I first read it on this forum months back. Its another big thing people bring up on here about JW's calling them Borg etc mindless people encourage to follow not question. A little bit unfairly in one sense because one thing the JW's do teach you is to question things in life, other faiths, governments etc that you then may point that questioning mind at them maybe classed as "being hung by their own petard"
