Actually I thought this just showed up apostates obsession with attacking the arrangement of having leaders of men, it also used expressions no witness would use.

In the past 20 years, have you seen a balanced, educated adult not raised by JW parents get baptized as a JW?

nor am i criticizing those who were raised as a witness as i was.. but i am curious to know if any of you have seen a person from the territory, not a relative of a witness, no recent tragedies or emotional problems, not a young runaway, not a drug user, but an educated adult who began a study with jehovah's witnesses, and eventually got baptized.. when i was a missionary, i met a gilead couple who had been in their assignment for 19 years.
i asked them about that.

Has anyone lost a friend or known of someone who committed suicide over BORG-induced guilt?
by Alpaca ini am not going to use any names for this because i don't want to cause potential hurt to anyone.. there was a very nice family in my congregation when i was a teenager.
step-dad, mom, and her 4 kids.
the dad became an elder, had a great business, the mom spent lots of time with the kids.

Suicide is a sad fact of life while I simpathise with all the stories on this thread, I know that it is a worldwide issue. Do people who have had no contact with witnesses commit suicide? yes. Do people in other religions of every type commit suicide? yes. Do people brought up without any religion per se commit suicide? Yes
The best advice anyone can give is that if you have suicidal thoughts please go and seek medical help straight away!
someone I knew did and found it was a chemical imbalance that caused her the emotional feelings that had triggered the suicidal thoughts. The right medication addressed this and although she will always be on it now the suicidal thoughts have gone away. sometimes only counciling is needed especially in teens that have a high rate of suicide risk from emotional issues.

the word apostate is a word used by the bible writers to talk of people that have withdrawn from following God's true religion and set themselves up in opposition.
If you are arguing that Jw's are not God's people therefore you cannot be apostate to them that is another debate and not one on apostasy.
Like I said giliead showed the the flaw in his own argument by showing the reference in the greek scriptures that show apostasy can be refered more than to just jews and it predicted apostasy will come with the man of lawlessness towards God's people.
Once you accept that the bible allows for their to be apostates to Gods people after jews then giliead debate is flawed.

I had doubts but I turned to the bible really trying to see what was the truth and it led me back to the witnesses.
YHWH is God biblically and it is noticiable all the arguments on here very few address whether we should believe Jehovah is our God and Jesus is his actual son.
What makes people have faith should never be other humans because then it will fail. My faith in Jehovah is complete and in his son too. Being a witness is then about being with people that believe as I do imperfect yes but so am I.
belief in God is becoming a taboo subject have you noticed? Faith is appraoch from a sceptical almost apologetic viewpoint.

by BonaFide inwe all love it when people pay attention to us or our opinions.
but what i am talking about is people who crave and force attention from others.
not just people who talk a lot, but those that force everyone around them to focus on them and them only.. in one of my classes there is a woman who raises her hand to ask a question, but never really has a question to ask.

Recently disfellowshipped prominent Assembly overseer in Western Europe now speaking out against the Watchtower org.
by the research lady informer elder, and assembly overseer roberto from france will be joining barbara and joe anderson on tonight's conference call, july 18,2009. roberto was disfellowshipped in june 2009 and after many faithful years of service is now joining thousands of others who are speaking out against the evils of the watchtower organization.
our call tonight will be focused on how the country of france, as well as other european countries are investigating jehovah's witnesses.
the watchtower organization is experiencing difficulties in these countries for the inhumane treatment and exerting too much control over people's lives.

a poor choicec of words maybe? but they find fertile ground in the minds of many ex-Jws and as you can see from the poster above more exagerations get put at the Jw door.
I do not see their pedophile policy as flawed only in that possible police checks could be implemented for elders if they aren't already but the current policy of now just advising persons involved into going to the police seems to be the only way to go.
Does the imperfect actions of people invalidate Jehovah and his son Jesus or the bible's words?
