  firstly you answer me one question what does any other faith have in place to counter pedophile members? note i say members not the clergy or staff,

  absolutely nothing! a pedophile can walk into any faith mormon, scientologist, cofE,catholic, unitarian etc and have no restrictions on them, even if they are known they can go in no one would stop them.

  I wasn't trying to defend witnesses I was just saying we are foolish to think their org is the only place they are look at this info.

  Mormons and JWs the same organization?

  i am just wondering what most of you all think.. do any of the ex-jws here believe any of this stuff?.

  i saw through search that much has been mentioned about icke on this website, but a lot of it seems to have been from 2002, so i know some people here must be familiar with it.. i am not talking about the far flung lizard people.

  lol i could only get halfway down, david icke is insane, he doesn;t even make sense he just picks out popular words from conspiracy theories and tacks them together, there's no proofs quoted at all, as I've said before on this website opinions are just opinions not facts, if you can't be shown the scripture or document beware!

  you will find a host of books and articles that discuss the polar opposites of love and fear.

  the bible shows two opposing gods.

  personally, i believe god is love and the angry god of fear is an imposter.

  This is just a classic case of having to accept or reject what the bible says, as i showed earlier there a massive amount of fear God scriptures that totally contradict what the poster is trying to achieve,

  The only way to get past this is to do what Aguest and others have done and that is persuade yourself that the bible is nothing to do with jesus a book where men have got it wrong again,

  If you think your own judgement is better than the bible then go and agree with Aguest and others if you accept that fear and love are both relevant like the bible says when dealing with god then you are at the same place I am.

  i am being investigated judicially, although weeks are going by without the elders saying anything to me about it.

  i still comment and give my talks.. anyway, some of my friends are getting word about me being investigated, some in my family too.

  a couple i used to preach with every week no longer call me and bug me to join them.

  Come on shawn even you have to admit the bias of this site? it is unashamably negative on WTs and a lot of opinion given as facts and one thing i noticed is not much quotes from sources given either, I'm not condemning the site just saying you will only get one side of the story on here and you have to be balanced and look at the alternatives too, is that a bad thing for me suggest?

  Bonafide I have no idea if you are a real person or not your posts are wide and varied, on one hand you talk of being investigated on the other having responsibilities for helping sisters with blood issues, and now on this one you ask if JW's are really your friends.

  If you are genuine you have been on this site long enough to know it is an anti-witness one! you will hear only one side of the story, the negative one. If you wish to leave witnesses then you will get all your negative thoughts on them confirmed on here but if you want a more balanced viewpoint seek out pro-witness forums as well, I have and found it beneficial to have both sides of the coin.

  I read a lot on here that would have me doubting witnesses sincerity look at these expressions 'shunned - lovebombed' it's a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't, If i was a witness who ignores someone on here i'm a shunner but if i'm nice to them i'm lovebombing them lol I couldn't win.

  my step daughter went to the memorial, which is her first meeting in many months.

  a 7 year old girl came up to her and asked if she is baptised and when will she get baptised.. my sister has a 4 year old daughter.

  when she was introduced to another 4 year old one question she asked was "does he love jehovah.".

  hi guys just too clear something my sister said

  Child abuse is about right. my sister becky (renaii) on here, was taught alot of JWs beliefs from my nanna, and as a result becky became quite obsessed with the notion of dying at a very young age

  This is not totally accurate even though my nanna was a witness she also had a lot of mental issues as well as being married to an abusive husband (she had a number of occasions been put into a mental institute) she was obsessed by death and fear of dying, I look back now and feel great pity for her,

  I have to ask the op of this thread if based on this thread he would limit the childrens access to their grandparents?

  Because it's threads like these that make me realise the shunning thing goes both ways.

  erm thankyou homer your info and links proved to be very interesting making me realise something I never considered before, someone once asked me would i let myself bring my children into a known pedophile org and it made me really pause but this site brought up a very valid point all other churches have pedophile policy involving staff and leaders but none towards members so they would do absolutely nothing in the case of family abuse, basically a member could be any type of criminal he would not be stopped being a member, so whatever the faults with the WTs system it at least has defellowshipping policy in place. Other churches have nothing in place for everyday members.

  I met with a surgeon yesterday about blood - wow

  i was asked by a friend to go with an older sister yesterday to the hospital to talk with her surgeon about her upcoming major surgery.

  hospital liason committee told her to watch the society's video on blood, and if she can't get her surgeon to agree on non-blood treatments, then they will help.

  it was the weirdest experience of my life.
