Littlebird, I'm kinda in the same situation but my JW wife isn't as firm but yet she still relishes the though that the end is nye. I've been on the verge of doing the same thing after 25 years of marriage. It is difficult but sometimes enough is enough. I'm trying to stick around for now because I have two new grand babies.

Im finally leaving my jw husband.
by littlebird insome of you know i have struggled with this for awhile.
i really do believe in marriage and the committment, however, sometimes enough is enough.. his endless preaching at me and calling me and my (adult) children satan has me realizing that this situation is not going to get better.
the other day he kicked my son out of the house for wearing a cap, in his car, with a skull on it.

As a Witness - What did you Notice in How Elders Got Appointed ?
by flipper ini found it amazing being raised in the witnesses to see exactly who got appointed sometimes as an elder.
it seemed that the criteria in my opinion had more to do with getting 10 hours a month in field service, answering at meetings, carrying microphones as a ministerial servant, or handling the magazine or literature counter !
in doing these " functions " and attending meetings on a regular basis - a man was thought to be considered " spiritually strong " and qualify to be an elder and serve on judicial committees judging people's personal problems.

How does GOVERNING BODY receive "NEW LIGHT"?
by UnDisfellowshipped injust how does the governing body of jehovah's witnesses receive their "insight" or "understanding" of the bible, in order to publish this "spiritual food at the proper time" in their watchtower and awake magazines and all their books?.
let's find out -- from their own publications -- exactly how this happens:.
"spirits of the dead" brochure (1991), page 18:.

The new light represents the best way to gain more $$, recruits. and retention. Bottom line.

Most of it depended on WHO you knew and how far you would go to extend your self at THEIR expense, NOT how spiritual you were it was HOW spiritual you pretended to be.

Could We Trigger A Tipping Point?
by metatron inthe watchtower has an achilles heel that few seem to have noticed: every change must be interpreted as a victory.
for them, this goes well beyond the sort of hype and 'spin' that would be expected from a government or ordinary corporation.
the reason why is obviously because they feel that their whole mythical reputation as god's chosen organization is on the line, with everything they do.. even rank false prophesy by them gets redirected as ' they were really unfaithful and just serving towards a date' (what, the date you provided??).

I don't see a tipping point except for thos who have doubts but most are either loyal to or afraid of the organization they are in. Fear is the main tactic used by any and all cults to keep recruits and find new ones.
The only ones leaving are those who have or are awakening.

People Who Refuse to Tip at Restaurants are Embarrassing!
by White Dove inegg and i were treated out to dinner three times last weekend by out of state visiting relatives.
just found out last night that they don't believe in tipping, at all!
we suggested the places to eat and frequent those places ourselves.

I am a good tipper BUT if the service or food sucks, then no, I don't tip. They'll catch on sooner or later..
