i've been lurking on this website for quite some time, but haven't quite gotten the strength to post until now.

for obvious reasons, i cannot reveal my identity.

although my "family" nows that i am no longer a witness and celebrates holidays, they still have "hope" for me.

I read your post and I feel for you. Many of us here are or have been in your situation. I am sure you will find many freinds here and please feel free to vent. I have only been here a month or so and found much support from many. I am sure you will too.

At this point, give your husband some more time. I can see him haboring some animosity towards the Jdubs and yet have a hard time letting go, especially if family is invloved.

Continue in your direction and be true to yourself. You have to be happy in your heart.

Have we become like those we despise?

ak jeff and i have just had a small disagreement on the charlton heston thread.

nothing important or serious, but it just struck me that in our exchanges he and brentr have used a couple of lines of false argumentation to get their point across.. i can't help but think its strange that with all our moaning about the watchtower and its false argumentation methods, are we prepared to use exactly the same methods when our views are challenged?.

i find this a bit disconcerting, especially on here of all places.

How is your circle of friends?

i have been blessed to come to know several posters here personally, and to be able to count them as friends.

i have phone conversations with several here from time to time also.

most of these are 'long distance relationships' due to the nature of the xjw beast, geographically, at least for me.

AK-Jeff, I am probably in the same shoes you were 4 years ago today. I am the newbie here that has just currently left the JW's. And, yes it is lonely. My wife, like yours, is still a committed JW with her parents. My children no longer want to be a JW either and are moving on with their lives. So far, none of us DF'd or DA'd but it is just a matter of time.

I am currently trying to reconnect with family since I have lost all my freinds since being indoctrinated. They have all went "very" different ways that I will not follow. But, I will say, I have had some good encouraging support from others here at JWD as well as some personal PM's. I look forward to a day when I will be able to meet these JWDer's that have and are helping me thru this trying time.

If I knew this what it was going to be like I would have slammed the door on the JW's 7 years ago.

But, hindsight is 20/20.

Witness owns Flower Shop-advertises-sells birthday-holiday arrangements

i have been away from the organization long enough not to know how this family is allowed to sell and profit from selling birthday and holiday gifts.

as far as i am aware they are active jw's.

they do a lot of advertising on the internet specifically for all the holidays and birthdays that jw's are not supposed to be involved in to the best of my knowledge.

I agree with TOTH that if you want to pursue the sexual discrimination topic, "you will need proof", and it is looked at seriously in almost any state you work in. But it sounds like that in your best interest you may want to update your resume and get the heck out of there. If you are not happy with what you do and where you work and there is no "good" working relationship with fellow employees it is time to leave anyway. Beleive me, I know, I've been there.

The second topic is that religion really was not the issue and should not have been brought to the fore. I have been in many managerial positions and that is not the professional way to handle this matter. It should have stayed in the manner of which it was brought. But, since they are the owners of the company, well you know, different strokes for different folks. And you are already seeing this first hand.

Gordy - I appreciate the video! I've seen it before and have contemplated sending this to some of the JW's I know but I don't want to stir the pot since I'm trying to fade while my spouse and her parents are still Dub's. If I did they would be knocking at my door, (which is what they do for a living anyway), and calling me an apostate.

we share a common past but have travelled many different roads to find each other here.

our outlooks and perceptions of reality are varied and often fascinating.

most of us are encouraging, funny, helpful and kind while others are still wrapped in bitterness and hatred or suffering from despair and privation.

Interesting thread. I have to agree with other posters that this just another ploy to keep the R&F happy and in "expectation" even if tribulation doesn't happen in thier time like they have been taught.

Think about it, if you had been told all your life that ones living in this time would see Armageddon and you see those that you know starting to die off and you yourself start approaching that same demise, wouldn't you start coming to a conclusion that maybe, just maybe, this wasn't going to be the case?

You would see them second guessing, and the WTBS cannot allow them to do that. They have to shed "new light" to keep them pursuing the interests of the WTBS, even if it is acknowledging a mistake in their timeline and the newly annointed ones.

IMO, It is all part of their smoke and mirrors that they have been doing since their beginning and all thru their time. What else is new?
