it is reputed that aborigines have been in oz for about 60,000 years.. what do jws have to say about this?.
I found this interesting...
w57 1/15 p. 45The rest of the article says nothing about the fact he said 100,000 years agoTHE EVIDENCE FROM PRIMITIVE CULTURES
Scientists seek out the origins of religion by archaeological investigations of the mute remains of ancient peoples and by studying the religious beliefs of the most primitive cultures whose members still live on earth. Lincoln Barnett agrees with this and says that for this latter category the "prime representatives are the Aborigines of modern Australia." He states: "That their religion has its roots in the depths of prehistory cannot be questioned. And that a similar, if less complex, form of belief prevailed among Palaeolithic men 100,000 years ago is also an indubitable fact."
liberatedwoman, that would be great. But I don't live in central Florida
can't everyone just put this one item on their profile before posting.
it seems like most posters have no profile, but this info could help in several ways.
i am just guessing, but it seems like more here were born in.....your thoughts on this?......oompa.
Born in, unfortunately
how many "jw induced" grown males (or females) did you know that were emotionally, physically, and/or sexually repressed due to their years in the jw's ... espically those "raised in" the "truth"?.
(this isnt a thread to center on slighting others or their actions because of their jw emotion stunting ... but you can bash hard on them for other things ... hehe) .
*raises hand*
I'm not in the mood to talk about it...but yeah...
Wow, lots of FL love!
Who else is from Florida?
i found this online.
i have not seen it on here before so i thought i would post it.
it is a test to determine if you belong in the jw religion.
23% Jehovah's Witness. Eww, it should be none...
were you ever out in a service group and either everyone was paired off or it seemed that you were always the last person to be worked with?
(like it kinda made you feel unwanted)......
Yeah, I was(am) kind of the odd duck in the congregation, so I was (is) usually the last person picked. Though this one sister usually wants to work with me, and if she's there, I work with her. Just recently, I joined her on some calls (yay no work for me) and told her I had to be home by 12:30, I didn't give her a reason (I just wouldn't be able to stand FS for longer), but made it a very important point. On her last call at like 11:30, we were invited in, she kept talking, talking, talking, I nudged her like three times (12:15, 12:20, then 12:30) and we were standing in the doorway, on the way out, with the door wide open, and she would not STFU! We FINALLY got out, she asked what time it is, I told her 12:30, so she freaked out about losing track of time, and was late to her pioneer meeting. She had the nerve to ask me if I could wait an hour before she drove me home so she could go. I was thinking, hell no, are you nuts? How many times did I say 12:30?! I told her I would walk home if I had to. She drove me to kingdomhall and made me call my mom to come pick me up. How inconsiderate! These morons put the borg before their friends.
This wouldn't be an issue, but I have to fake this whole witness crap. I was faking my hours, but maybe my parents were concerned that I didn't even go out once for two or three months, yet filled in service time. Hehheh...
i was wondering if i could get some opinions or help on this matter... .
you see, i have two jw friends i still converse with over the phone.
they don't live in my state, so i can't see them too often.
Thanks for the helpful responses. And thanks for the free bump, OnTheWayOut :D
