I am not religious at all, but sometimes I like Joel Osteen sermons. Watch him on TV.

The Bethel "Generation of 1914"
by cabasilas insome older former bethelites may remember these folks from the cover of a 1984 watchtower:.
this was published during a time while the watchtower society was waging war against the "apostasy" that had started in 1980. one of the issues at stake was the year 1914. these older bethelites were photographed to give tangible proof that the "generation of 1914" would not pass away.
now, nearly 27 years later, they likely have all passed away (along with that generation).. there is a listing of some of the names of these bethelites up at a blog article at this link:.

Did you play tackle football as a good little JW?
by JRK inin my town we did.
each congregation had its own "pick up" team.
we would get together and play on a chosen sunday after the meetings.

I got injured as a teenager, badly bruised thigh. I was catching the ball as a wide receiver and one brother ran very fast and he used his head to hit my thigh. It hurts like hell.

Who Was Your Favorite Speaker?
by minimus inno brag, just fact---i was the most requested speaker in my hall(s), i was often requested to give talks in kh's all over the place, not just in my area.. i personally enjoyed speakers who taught you something, not merely recited something.
we had a district overseer, paul illingsworth, i loved his style.
he delved into bible words of the original greek and hebrew.
