pppffffffft! This is such flimsy reasoning! A lot of things had "pagan origins" such as wedding rings, hearts, and our modern calendar is based on Pagan practices, astrology and mythology (just to name a few). Yet the dubs pick and choose which ones they'll allow.

Graduation and elders meeting!

hi everyone, i'm not new here just haven't posted in a while.

for those who remember me i'm graduating from college on wednesday!!!!

i'm very happy but there's still a dark cloud (pardon the dramatic-ness) i am still with my non-jw boyfriend of almost three years and i've let my parents know that we want to get married (next month) and they went and told the elders(they did it kinda behind my back) who now want to meet and talk with me!

Congrats on your graduation and upcoming marriage! Can you just dodge the elders and maybe they will give up? You can also refuse to speak to them outright. I would be careful of faking repentance since that may give your parents false hope, and they'll end up hurt even more when it's taken away and you won't be able to fake it forever.

Mom is gone

i'm not much of a poster here, but the passing of my mom on friday is as good a reason as any.. she was in deep, no doubt will be refered to as "faithful to the end" by those who eulogize her.

this new chapter in my life of course has me is a reflecive mood.

i'm sure when she was diagnosed with cancer 4 years ago that her hope was that the "new system" would come before she succumbed.

If two thousand years from now...

a particular group of people taught others that the world trade center was destroyed on sept. 11, 1981 (instead of 2001) how silly would that be?.

if people knew their history they would know that gw bush was president at the time of the attack (reagan was president in 81).

they would know that al qeada did not exist in 1981. they would know the first gulf war had not been fought yet, etc.... but what if they were not aware of these facts?

Who to Send a Disassociation Letter To?

if i am going to send a disassociation letter, i am wondering which hounder to send it to.

i know there is no mailboxes at the kingdumb hell, so any letters that get sent there would end up dead mail.

and i know that one does not send them to the washtowel slaveholdery.

there seems to be a variety of defintions on the net so what does "soul mate" mean?.

Soulmate (or soul mate) is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality and/or compatibility. A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul – which is thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one's soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join. However, not everyone who uses these terms intends them to carry such mystical connotations.
