hey... how's everyone?.

i'm a new guy here... so a bit about me.. i was raised as a jw.

my parents started studying when i was a baby, so it's all i knew growing up.

this is probably going to be a doozy of a post, as i'm no good at giving the abridged version of stories lol especially when they are about me.

lol i tend to give too many details and not get to the point, but i'll do my best to keep things as short as possible.. that being said, i have finally decided to give you all my background story.. i was born into the organization.

Thanks for the story, ana_dote; I read it all and I hardly ever read long posts. I don't have any advice for you but I wish I had taken yours about getting a drink first. I'm thirsty!

They really fool you into believing that the elders are "a hiding place from the wind." When you have that drilled into you, it's really shocking when the elders treat you like garbage.

Well, they'd sure have a lot fewer big butts in the seats

mindmelda, some women in our hall had to actually "shop around" for a seat they could fit in. Apparently they weren't all the same size.

i'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.

and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.

so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

Bullying JW's

i've just watched a program on tv about bullying (in australia).

and my wife and i were just commenting on how much the jw's bully so many of their followers, as in shunning disfellowshiped or disassociated ones, even ones that have faded.

their bullying tactics also invove using famiky members not to talk to them.
