There were a lot of times when my son and I skipped our family study but I counted it anyway.

Did YOU CHEAT on Your Time?
by minimus inone of the things the congregation secretary has to do is tabulate field service reports.
i always loved it when i would get a report that had an enormous amount of hours and placements.,especially if the person never was seen in the ministry.
i knew a lot of "phantom pioneers".

A couple of ??'s
by JG insince my wife has been attending meetings recently, and i have been going with her i have noticed a change.. i mentioned i thought it was weird that after the sun talk and before watchtower study they would announce the number of people who had attended and invite them to stay for the wt study.
since i mentioned this to an elder it has stopped.
i have never heard it again.

JG,
In the last congregation I was associated with, they would announce the number in attendance at the public talk only every now and then, but it wasn't consistent.I never did understand why it was only a "sometimes"thing.

Can JWs attend other churches?
by SusanHere ini have an odd situation that came up during a recent visit by my long-time jw sister.
on sunday she agreed to attend our meetings (lds) with us "to see how other churches do things".
i was totally blown away.

When I was new to the JWs I was told that I shouldn't even go to the Weight Watcher's meeting that was held in a local church because it might stumble somebody.I can't imagine that they would tolerate going there to actually attend a service.I don't believe your sister would be interested in going there unless she were having doubts.

It was January 31of this year.I went on a call with a pioneer sister. The guy's father had given her his inactive son's address. He answered the door, she told him who we were and he said"Just a minute",left the door open, came back in a few seconds and said"Everybody here is sick,we can't talk to you right now".Of course,he had no idea we knew he was an inactive JW.Anyway,we left and that was the last door I knocked on.
