WHAT TYPE OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE?
by minimus inwhat type of personality do you really have?
do you have the same personality in person that you do on-line?
some of us here seem to be rather private and others appear to be very good at communication.

DF = DA = non-assocciation?
by truman ini was wondering if anyone else is feeling it on the wind that there seems to be a coming.
equivilency between officially disassociating onesself, and simply being in a state of.
non-association as a walkaway, fade-out, inactive person.

I saw a pioneer at Wal-mart the other day who I thought was my friend at one time. When she spotted me she just waved and kept going. She had been coming to my housefor a while trying to get me to go back ,but suddenly stopped. It seems like she has been warned not to associate with me in any way.

Count time Witnessing on Net
by WTLies ini was under the impression that you could not count the time spent witnessing on the internet.
i however can't find that anywhere in jw material.
has anyone else heard this, or know where i can find this 'in print' (jw phraseology lol).

DISPROVE THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE
by minimus inone of the most ingrained things for long time witnesses to change their viewpoint on is the fds.
i believe that due to the constant information at the meetings, conventions, publications and elder's talks, the doctrine of the faithful slave is pounded into everyone's heads.once a person sees the misunderstanding of this teaching, it's easier to critically see the wrongness of the watchtower.
can you suggest easier, less complicated rebuttals to this doctrine?

"Awakening of a JW"
by LovesDubs ini just read diane wilson's book "awakening of a jehovahs witness" and it was a wonderful account of her experiences as a jw.
there are great references in here for their flip flops, their blood issue, the cult mentality (hassan) and how vulnerable certain "types" of people are to the mind manipulating ways of the witchtrowel!
does anybody have an email addy for diane by any chance?

From reading the book,I sensed she did not have an axe to grind, but was being very objective in relating the things she observed and experienced. This is one reason I enjoyed the book so much.

Witnesse knocked on our door when I was 9 years old.My parents accepted a bible study. We moved and nothing was ever said about it until they came to our door again when I was 13 and my parents accepted another study. An elderly pioneer lady kind of took me under her wing and pushed me into baptism at the age of 13.I did not make a dedication in my heart, I only did it to please her.I think this is the case with a lot of kids, being nudged into baptism when they really don't want to but afraid of displeasing adults. Then they end up being disfellowshipped for doing things all other normal kids do.
